The rumor mill surrounding 9th edition is overran with rumors of the "Bubbleverse", which is basically all that's left of Old World after Chaos drops a flying elbow drop on everyone. Tiny pocket universes float around in the ether, bumping into each other, each one its own little sphere of reality.

WELL ISNT THAT EXCITING.

So if you were able to create your very own little bubble of reality set in Warhammers Old World, what would be happening there?

In mine, the Tomb Kings would totally be the Good Guys. (tm)

Khalida would be the newly crowned Queen of the Dead, and would be leading the remnants of Khemri on a valiant quest to find a Bubbleverse that represents the Tomb Kings before Nagash cursed them all! The Tomb Kings trudge on, fighting their way through any bubbleverse that tries to hinder them on their path to salvation!

Of course, all the while, Khalida is set on finding her arch rival, and lends to armies aid to any who stand up against the Lahmian queen and her vampire underlings!

My skaven would in reality run out of food and probably die

But i would like to think they go full civilization, start farms and pop out as gentlemen Victorian rats with steam punk tech up the wazoo

I'd have halflings tending their fields, whipping up enormous amounts of food, and having their ogre bodyguards beat the tar out of anyone who tries to filch it.

So, pretty much the same as before the world exploded.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

A world of massively tall and gnarled trees that reach so far in to the sky that elves inhabit the branches above the clouds and large cities of various races have also lived on this new Canopy Surface. Cold air and 100mph winds are common at this altitude. Flying mounts are common as they ride the winds at breakneck speeds.

Far below on the actual surface creatures scurry thrive in the dark where only stray and residual beams of sunlight happen to reach. Skaven and beastman would exist down here and sometimes attack the canopy. Some have been working on ways to saw through the nigh impenetrable trunks of these ironwood trees. Task forces delve downward to setup defenses and keep potential enemies away.

Also, outcasts and criminals are banished to the surface.

Malekith awakens from his blackout in the Maelstrom, and find himself invested with a tiny spark of creative powers, and recreates a pocket universe in his image as if he had originally been corronated as King of the Elves, infused with the wind of fire as he was meant to have.

Dwarfs and Ogres have a Fist Bump of epic proportions and kick some Stunty-Fatty ass together. Gyrocopters carry Ogre Ordinance (quite literally drop ogre maneaters on their enemies).

Lots of other stuff.

A bubble only about 10 meters in diameter containing a single man and a pistol with a single shot.

I wish I could give a serious answer but I don't know how my dusty old VCs are supposed to remain interesting in a bubble. ..

I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Well a bubble could be an entire world. It is essentially a dimension on its own. So the Vampire Counts could have a world of human slaves.

In my bubble-verse, Ogres and orcs have taken up residence on several landmasses. On these land masses is stone-rings created by the old ones (same ones from WHFB beginning) that can teleport them with the correct ritual to different locations on their own verse. There is a large one in the center of their world that can teleport them to another bubble-verse. (i.e., buddy plays dwarfs, so ogres make frequent attacks on his mechanized victorian aged dwarfs)

It is pretty awesome and explains why some armies are fighting one another; atleast that is my own bubble-verse.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

In my bubble-verse,

multiple chunks of the old world have been coagulated together to basically form a new planet in a new universe. The chunks have been set down on a new planet with a new formations.

The chunks were scattered across this new world, which has much a similar climate to the old one, but some didn't make into good places of the new planet. Leading to, as the centuries go by and expeditions are sent out from the remaining pockets of civilization they find pockets of the old world that weren't as successful.

Imagine a colonizing expedition from the surviving city of Altdorf finding the ruins of Tallabheim deep inside a strange alien jungle, the survivors in that particular bubble having been swallowed up by the jungle or regressed to being savages.

A lizardmen city sets down in the middle of the desert, skinks and saurus only barely eeking out an existence on the edge of a river as the only source of water for hundreds of miles in either direction.

Nehekaran cities being restablished deep in the frozen tundra.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

My lizardmen fly through the Bubbleverse in their own special reality bubble/spaceship/temple city and look for other bubbles to encounter and rid of the taint of chaos to further the failed great plan. Of course every bubble is deemed tainted with chaos and all inhabitants must be destroyed. Then they use and resources in the remains of the bubble, respawn those lost in battle and move on.

This did occur to me and I did sit down and think up a bunch of fluff but none of it was in any way Warhammer. There was nothing to tie it all in to anything Warhammer at all, it was just generic fantasy that would work much better with a Kings of War campaign me and a mate are planning.
