I've been toying around with a 2k list for this new army which I love, and I'm looking for a bit of advice on it. Now, the people I play with have a house rule about the artifacts, and that's that you CAN take one weapon and non weapon; this goes for all armies, and as you'll see I've taken full advantage of it.

Sound list. Nice to see the bloodstorm

Couple of suggestions.

Take an icon or two, maybe even an instrument, on the bloodletters, to stack with the warp talons deep strike blind shenanigans.

Lump the flesh hounds together to be a proper bodyguard for the lord.

aand.. just cos you can take two artefacts, doesn't mean you should. axe of khorne and goredrinker don't stack well as goredrinker isn't a specialist weapon.

The deal with Goredrinker is that the bonus rules apply to the wielder no matter what weapon they're using. If he goes against one mob his attacks are S10 AP 2 ID at init w/Rampage after only 8 kills.

The guys I play with don't really use that many transports but have enough 2+ armor that I'd rather have the extra shots with the plasma.

Fleshounds together is a good idea, I'mma do that.

I'll have to find some points for the icons, but I'll see if I can fit them

It is actually 8 wounds, not kills. It is important to remember that since even if you get stuck on a challenge vs another decked HQ, as soon as you start scoring wounds you get the bonuses for the next round.

I agree in the join both hounds and put the jugger lord there. I've always been against the Axe of Khorne in this codex, it is crazy expensive and at S4 it won't be dealing as much dmg. With the bonuses from goredrinker sure, but that is really really really expensive, 60 extra points is a lot, almost as much as a brand new lord.

I'm not a fan of the Goredrinker either, since PF+LC is better for 10 more points due to unwieldy, at least until you score 5-6 wounds iirc. Still I can see it as an ok option.

The blood-forged armor is really an item intended only for the Daemon Prince, the lord already has his 3+ cost integrated into his base cost, so you are paying twice for it, and besides that the lord will be in a unit of hounds (hopefully 10) so he has 20 wounds to spare due to LoS, the DP rides solo so a S10 hit becomes a lot more scarier.

As a quick comparison your current jugger costs almost as much as the Blood thirster and the same (?) as Abaddon the Despoiler...

The rest of the list looks fine, depending on your meta Plasmas/Meltas is ok. If you take my advice and drop the armor and the axe of khorne, you could fit 2 rhinos for the bloodletters and the icons so that you can DS the Talons without scattering and the Blood Thirster as well if you intend to do so, also any unit summoned from the blood tithe.

Whoops... there doesn't seem to be anything here.

Blood reapers are only 15 points, I'm pretty sure. That's 95 points per unit, not 105.

I would also combine the flesh hounds. Remember, you can attach your lord and outflank too... Great idea if you're playing the board the long way.

Actually only 5, so you're a solid 40 pts under limit

how do the flesh hounds get outflank?

It's included in the scout rule.

DS them. IF they die, you get a point. IF they dont, you charge and get a point for killing a unit.
