Skitarii Maniple - (incomplete)

2 Dune Crawlers, Icarus Array, cognis heavy stubber

The warlord must come from the maniple (an event restriction) and no more than 2 detachments (again an event restriction).

How would you finish the maniple? I need a second troops choice (vanguard with plasma or arc?) and given maelstrom missions are a thing I am thinking dragoons or ruststalkers could be very useful for objectives.

Any feedback or help appreciated!

If you want an Anti-Armor unit give them Arc Rifles and an Arc Pistol. If you need Anti-MEQ or TEQ go with the Plasma Culvilers and a Phosphoenix.

The Ruststalkers look like they will do some serious damage in melee, but getting there without an assualt vehicle could be difficult. Things are early, but razor, claw, grenade is more versital than Dual Blade.

Also if you have the points fielding a third Dune Crawler might be worth it for the 4++.

I like the idea of just a bunch of vanguard. 100 points for the kind of firepower they deliver, and the bubble wrap they can pull off by having scout, seems like a good combo.

For maelstrom, I think the chicken walkers (either form) will work a bit better than the elites. Third the points and less threat so more MSU. Also gives enemy a choice, point guns at adlance or walkers -- they probably pick easy walkers but its still a choice. There's not as much of that with the elite guys, you can point anything at them and expect results.

I would reserve the 2 units of naked vanguard (one of which is the warlord - GULP!) and consider reserving the ironstrider if I was going second. Is was added as I had points spare and it gave me another mobile maelstrom scorer with a decent AA capacity.

Can't you make a Knight your warlord?

Nope - its a restriction of the event. No knight warlords

I am 99% sure this is it along with the lance.

I am considering a conversion field for the sarge in 1 of the vanguard (warlord) and then maybe an arc pistol for him as well. That or a relic?
