I was wondering if I could give my XV109 Y'vahra something like an Earth Caste Piloting Array for extra survivability in battle, what with the ranges it is made to operate in a devastating alpha strike or a fail of a nova reactor roll could ruin my day.

Opinions?

Edit: I just realized it mentioned no FE signsture systems on the rules for it. However I think it's okay to take it im Farsight as it wouldn't mention FE systems otherwise.

The XV109 cannot be taken in a Farsight Enclaves Detachment in the first place.

It's less clear about the XV107 as it's rules use the phrase "Codex: Tau Empire army" which has no definition other than, I assume, an army that is only taken from Codex: Tau Empire (i.e. no other codices or even Farsight Enclaves as allies) although the term "army" has been FAQed to "detachment" in almost all other instances from 6th to 7th edition, so the intent may be the same as the XV109.

What Mr.Shine said above it up for debate, but a 109 or 107 absolutely cannot take signature systems from FE.

SIGNATURE SYSTEMS
Any character in your army that may select Signature Systems may not select from those listed in Codex: Tau Empire, but may instead select from the Signature Systems of the Farsight Enclaves (opposite), at the points cost shown. Note that XV104 Riptides in your army may select items from the Signature Systems of the Farsight Enclaves.

Emphasis added in bold there. The XV104 Riptide has an exception allowing it to take signature systems. The XV107 R'Varna or the XV109 Y'Vahra are not XV104 Riptides, therefore they cannot take signature systems.
