I picked up a Stormtalon today (with intent to get another one at least) and was wondering what I should fit them with?

Also what would work better, 2x Stormtalons and 1x Stormraven, 2x Stormtalons and 1x Fire Raptor or three Stormtalons?

Skyhammers are the most efficient load out, unless you really need tankhunting ability. I love my stormguppies; cheap, multi purpose flyers.

Skyhammers are also tank hunters in 7th ed. AP 2/1 got rather gutted.

Depends on what you want to do with them. If you want to drop some nasty cc troops or an ironclad from a flying land raider ur I mean stormraven then running 2 stormravens with a stormtalon escort each is pretty dope.

If you are just interested in some AA and AT then use either the typhoon missiles( love those things) or skyhammer. Really I only go skyhammer when I don't have the points for typhoon missiles though.

2 stormtalons and 2 fire raptors is pure awesome (notice how everything needs to go in pairs)

If you want to run JUST stormtalons check out the Tyrannnic War Vet formation that is comprised of Chaplain Cassius 1-4?(not sure on the max) Tyrannic war veteran squads and 0-6 INFILTRATING stormtalons. Take 3 talons and have a blast.

Skyhammers really are good in most roles that an airship needs to be in. No real reason to take anything else unless you're tailoring.

Now, if you're hurting on slots in your army, the twin Talons and a Raven in a Formation, forgot the name of it sadly, is a great choice. Gives Fast Attack armies an option.

If you run Ultramarines, I still love the Tyrannic War Veteran Formation, but I slap them in a Blood Angel allied Razorback because they only get Land Raiders as Dedicated Transports. Not everyone has this option I know, but having Talons on the table Turn 1 is a big bonus and a small squad with Cassius is a good Infantry killing unit so I get no downside in my casual games. I don't take more than two Talons though. I don't spam but I also don't ever feel the need for the full six that are possible. Two does plenty so I wouldn't bother with the three Talons choice either.

But, a Fire Raptor is an amazing bird. Downside is that that is all your Fast Attack options in a single CAD. I think Raptors are FA, might be misremembering... Unless you're using a Bike army, I would avoid this. Benefits don't outweigh the drawbacks if Bikes aren't Troops for you.

Talons and Raven Formation would be my first choice in a non-Ultramarines/non-White Scars army. Ravens are also a great place for Sternguard... Just sayin.

Gotta be honest, though. My lists have been working much better without flyers in 7th.

Thanks for the insight into the options The AdeptusAstartes Storm Wing formation looks quite good to be honest. I'll be running CT: Mantis Warriors so Tyrannic War Veteran, while good, seems a little out of place.

Thank you to everyone for the advice on how to arm them I'm thinking Skyhammers on Talons= 125 ea and Multi Melta and Las Cannons on Stormraven? I'll also be fielding a Damacles Command Rhino so I can manipulate reserves

Multi-melta and lascannons always.
You can go crazy and add hurricane bolters if you want to..... but I don't usually recommend this.

So a good loadout would be:
Storm wing Formation
Stormraven w/ Multi Melta, Las Cannons
Storm Talon w/ Skyhammer
Storm Talon w/ Skyhammer

Gives me room for Bikes in Fast Attack. I was also thinking using my defacto Chapter Master Ahazra Redth, who would give Interceptor to a unit he's attached to as well as a Mortis Dreadnought with Autocannons for more Interceptor? Would that be good for AA (aside the bikes) or too much AA?

Probably too much unless you routinely go up against flyers on the table Turn 1. FMCs, Infiltrating Talons, Skyshield pads with that one upgrade. The Talons can deal with FMCs reliably and the Raven takes on heavier things. Keep in mind the nerf to AP 1/2 against vehicles though. A lot of folks, myself included, prefer Assault Cannons on the Ravens to glance something down instead of just fire two shots and hope for the magic rolls.

I don't think Interceptor confers Skyfire, so an Interceptor Infantry unit wouldn't be that good. Saw a Devestator Squad with Plasma Cannons that had Interceptor because of Coteaz though and I liked that idea quite a bit. Just an idea to throw out there.

Interceptor on a non-skyfire unit is good for countering deep-strikers. Opens up on 'em before they get to fire which can reduce the amount of incoming pain you suffer. You can't fire the same weapon again, but in the case of say, Marines, you could unload a bunch of bolters into a close-in DS, and then whatever popped in you could open up with pistols, or a grenade, or something. Or heck, mix a grenade from one model for the interceptor and save your bolter...or whatever you want to cause some pain on the incoming drops followed by more fire in your shooting phase.

I took two Skyhammer Stormtalons and an Assault Cannon/Multimelta Stormraven in the Stormwing Formation (how many storms in one sentence?) to LVO this year, and it was flat out excellent in all six rounds. No buyer's remorse, highly recommended!

For the greater glory of the Zoat Empire!
