So I'm still a little sore over BA not getting Thunderfire Cannons or Stormtalons, simply because of how well they've worked for me with Codex Space Marines (I've used both WS and IF tactics). I love using them, and want to continue to do so. The problem is, I don't want them to end up looking like red White Scars or red Imperial Fists, and I want to have some tactical framework before getting the color scheme applied.

So, my question for you all is, how would you ally them in and what Chapter Tactics would you build around them. I'm open to whatever.

Paint-wise, I'd do them up as Blood Angels unless you plan to build a sizeable force; perhaps add different Company markings on any units in both books, but for TFC and Stormtalons, there can't be any confusion as those units don't exist in the BA book, so must be your other 'Chapter'.

As for what to add, an Allied Detachment bringing a Librarian and Scouts+ any extras you want is the cheapest, and gives you a decent HQ who can buff your BA, an ObSec Troops choicd to hang back (or ride in a LSS for late-game grabs). However, if you are open to Unbound, then you needn't worry about any of that, and this is exactly what Unbound was made for, so no one should really have a problem with it.

Chapter Tactics wise, Iron Hands would be best for any vehicles/Techmarines you are bringing, and most other CTs don't offer much to TFC or Stormtalons.

Just to clarify, do you have the WS/IF army you mention in the OP separate to your BA army? If so, why not just ally them in as a second force?

Iron Hands, duh, don't know why I didn't make that connection. Makes sense, thanks Paradigm, I like that route.

Any advice on what psychic powers would be good to focus on? I've never played space marine Libby before (always seem to talk myself into dropping him from my list). I'm leaning towards Biomancy...

To answer your question, I don't have anything painted up in other than BA red. Prior to Codex Blood Angels dropping I was just running red marines as White Scars, Imperial Fists etc.

Thanks, btw!

Biomancy has some nice buffs/debuffs (Rnfeeble is fantastic, as is Endurance), but my discipline of choice for non-Divination Librarians is Telepathy, as the primaries, Psychic Shriek, is absolutely killer against MCs or low-count-high-cost elites. It's not as great if he can't fit in a Drop Pod, but even with a JP (I'm assuming your BA have some jumpers?) He'll be in threat range fast enough. Even if you run him with DC/SG and then split him off to Shriek something while they charge another, he could still get his points back easily enough. Hit a Riptide, Carnifex or Wraithlord with a Shriek they're going to feel it!

Right on. I've got plenty of jumpers in my BA, and looking at that Shriek power, that will make a nasty addition to a SG & Priest unit.

Groovy, thanks!
