I'm thinking of trying to convert my Chaos Aspiring Champion into a warpsmith and need to find some good counts as mechatendrils. I'm currently looking at the Necron wraith kit. Is there anything out there that fits better? thanks in advance.

Check out Dragonforge. They have pewter ribbed cables which have the advantage of readily holding their shape...

mmmhmm
even a single comb works. Because what you get is, one side makes the grooves, while the flat surface you are rolling it on conpresses the spikes back into flats. So its a more flat cable (think like a shower connector) compared with spikey tube (think ventilation pipe that flexs and compacts).
I use a vary of both, some are more rib like while some are flatter, hard to see in the picture.

Thanks guys, I think I may have some spare guitar strings around somewhere. But how would I keep them in place?
