A random ditch next to a zoo (self imposed exile)

In the HH short story, The Death of a Silversmith, the killer is an errant Space Marine, but I can't figure out exactly WHICH Space Marine did the dirty, dirty deed due to being a bit slow and...'special'.

Could someone please let me know the identity of the naughty offender?

Captain Targost of the Luna Wolves killed him, if only to preserve the secrecy of a warrior-lodge. Considering that Ciaphas still advises Schola to look out for that sort of thing, I'd say the lodge was up to something.
