So I need some help with my basing Idea. So basically I wanted a running river base, as I hate myself, and I needed some help on a few portions.

So the grey is the cork I layed down on a few of the bases to act as shore/larger rocks in the river, and the brown is the sand I glued onto the base. I already know how I'm going to paint the gravel, but my question is, how do I keep the fairly runny water acrillic on the base while drying?

P.S. sorry about the quality of the picture I couldn't quite get the actual base to come out right in the photo.

are you using water effect? because if you apply this carefully you can actually get this to sit where you like, due to it having a sort of skin, like real water. a few layers and you'll be sorted. if this isnt working though, just use sticky tape to create a barrier around the area you want.

you can see what i mean here on my huron. the small section of water was just applied with a brush and carefully pushed to the edge of the base, where it will sit quite happily as long as you dont overload it.

Yeah I am using a water effect, and do you know if it looks okay with multiple layers?

yeah you have to use multiple layers because it shrinks as it dries. your final layer will always look a bit high when you first put it on. but you dont get any layer witness marks or anything so you dont have to worry.
