Can't go wrong with is, I haven't played the new space wolve. But this box looks like a good start. Pick up another droppod and you got yourself a nice start.

Thats a good spot to start, my SW buddy did that too. Also get some thunder wolves soon, as not only are they super cool models, they are great assault units.

Yep, WotF and a box of Thunderrwolves would be a great start to your army. If you have extra cash, I'd also grab the SW Venerable Dreadnought kit; not only is it a fantastic model to paint, but offers a lot on the table. With magnets or even a bit of blue tac, you can have the rock-hard Axe+Shield combo, the super-killy Murdedfang or a nice, tough and dangerous HQ choice with Bjorn the Fell Handed.

With the WotF set, don't necessarily stick to the units listed, as you actually get the parts to build 30 PA Wolves in any combination of Grey Hunters, Blood Claws, Wolf Guard or Long Fangs. Personally, I'd go with:

10xGH, 2 Plasma guns, 10 Chainswords

10xGH, 2 Plasma guns, 10 Chainswords

5 Long Fangs, 2 Lascannon, 2 Plasma Cannon

5 Wolf Guard, 2 Power Axes, 2 Storm Shields

Wolf Lord, Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer

But you could just as easily trade the Wolf Guard for another squad of Long Fangs and make the Lord a Rune Priest. Hope that helps, if you want a starter list written up let me know and I'll build one to your budget!
