Hi guys, i just got to play my first game yesterday and it was awesome. One thing that didnt make too much sense to me though was that the heldrake could only travel forward and could not turn around. so after i rolled him in on turn 2 and placed him at the middle of the table i only got one turn before he flew off the table and i had to try to bring him in again. no this to me kinda made no sense because if he is in fact a flyer wouldnt he be able to turn around and try to go other places to destroy other units? please let me know if this is infact the rule because if it is i may need to think about switching him out for another model thanks guys

Look up the rules for flyers. It tells you exactly how far the Heldrake can move, and how much it can turn in its movement phase.

A flyer can turn 90 degrees before each move, so you could stay on the board longer. In the case of the Heldrake though you also have the option to swap flight modes and make it hover. In that mode you can move like a fast skimmer and stay on the board as long as you want.
It comes at the cost of other units no longer needing skyfire to shoot at it properly though. On the plus side , it allows you to contest objectives.

Your always free to switch back to zoom later.

thanks dude it was my first game ever so things even in the rule book are sometimes confusing this makes him a little easier to use since he can hover turn then go back to flying and zoom across the table. thank you so much for the help
