This is the wraith knights new type but what does it mean? Gargantuan creatures can already move 12'' so what does the jump add?

They can move over units and it also would give them fleet if they chose not to use their jump move. It also would allow them to move through Difficult Terrain without testing since they auto pass dangerous terrain tests and they aren't slowed by it.

I think they're flying monstrous creatures as far as rules are concerned. with the extra bonus stuff fro being gargantuan.

No flying monstrous creatures move like jump when they are in gliding, but they are not the same thing. There is such a thing as a Flying Gargantuan Creature and that is Harridan.

page 70 BRB, flying gargantuan Creatures follow the movement rules for flying monstrous creatures without any modification.

wait nvm its late and I'm in full derp mode it seems

Jump works for all types of units. In this case moving 12 is useless, but it means that you can jump over stuff or alternatively use the pack to re-roll charge distance instead and can deepstrike.

Jump Packs don't give Fleet

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / Fallout Factions: BoS / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion: CIS / WWX: Union

UK

Means they don't roll for moving through cover, they can just move 12".

Pretty nice considering Gargantuans have been neglected for moving through cover (6" maximum) while Super-Heavies can still move up to 12 " through cover

No, but since GC's move 12" anyway, they can wait to use the Jump move for the assault, giving them re-rolls on their charge dice.

As has been said it's huge for moving through cover. A normal Gargantuan creature moves between 1 and 6 inches through cover (an oversight fixed for superheavy walkers but not gargantuan creatures). A Jump Gargantuan Creature can move 12 all the time and ignores dangerous terrain tests.

If they are walking through open ground, they can use the jump pack in the assault phase for the re-roll.

It's a pretty massive upgrade all in all.

And how do they interact with cover when taking fire? Do they just get it or use the 25% vehicle rules

They're not vehicles so why would they do cover like vehicles.

Crown, Zipp is just being logical. They aren't vehicles, so no, that rule won't apply to them, but should they have something similar, especially since they, especially wraith knights, are the tallest models on the table with our tallest trees covering their ankles, yes. But unfortunately no such rule exists.

Yeh I was wondering if there was a special rule as it is funny that they can have 1mm of base on terrain and claim a cover save!

It also means they have Deep Strike.

Yeah, was going to say they also get deep strike. Not that you'd want to deep strike a wraith knight, that mishap would hurt...

Had a game today with it. Move 12" in the movement phase, then save the assault ability of Jump to be able to reroll charge distances in the assault phase.

Yup, it's even better than before.
