Hey there dakka! So Ive converted a IK to be more "orky". I was wondering, What Ork unit(FW or Codex) Would be about the same size and equal power as the IK? Im not sure exactly what I want it to be, But feel I should make it something nice to represent the models power.

We he isnt completely finished, but I was just curious so I can know if I should add more weapons to him or not.

You could always run it as an Imperial Knight via an allied detachment, fluff out the negative allies penality with the idea that nobody trusts that Mek because he has a nasty habbit of trampling da boyz with that thing.

If it's gonna do IK stuff and act like an IK then it's not very Orky and the stolen units can be unbound. If a mek got to it and Orkyfied it chances are it took a beating and they cobbled on armour. Perhaps a slight nerf on armour to show this. Orks will look at the gun(s) and find them not Orky enough and will try to cobble on something bigger but not so reliable. Smaller guns can be replaced with Ork vehicle guns if there is a primary gun they will always try to make it more killy at the price of making it blow in their faces. In some way make that primary gun more powerful be it one more point to Str or AP or bigger blast but then it also has It Get's Hot. Less armour, more killy, mishaps and you got an Orky looted unit.

Yeah I wasnt going to run it as an IK. It will have to be weaker, and have more weapon(Orks like to add more weapons) and Nerf the current Chain sword , or just leave it and make a mishap table for it.

Idk if I agree with the weaker av value.. at least not for its facing.. orks possess the ability to create av 13 and even 14 armor.. stompa, nauts, and battlewagon are all proof of this. As far as the weapons I agree. If you are going to change the av.. go down by 1 on the sides and 2 on the back. Seems to be the common thing done to ork stuff

Yeah just lowering on the sides and back would be fine in my opinion as well. They are a forward thinking bunch in a more literal sense. But I do mention the AV lowering because it wasn't built by them but rather it was looted and it's just a nod that the structural integrity was compromised in some way be it form the battle it was looted from or all the chopping, cutting and adding of Orky stuff to it by the Mek rather then it being built ground up by the Mek.

Just make it a Stompa then I think.

Stompa is much bigger IIRC

I dont think there really is anything other than a counts as IK allied in that would work.

Or you have to make your own rules

Edit: Morkanauts or gorkanauts seem to be the PERFECT size for it.

Stompa is also a transport with capacity of 20 and being a Super Heavy isn't limited to just one unit for transport. It's also a effigy of their gods and gives a fearless buff to nearby units. Not to mention all it's weapons that can fire at seperate targets and also the 4 spots the units inside can fire out of. It's not a good stat template for anything but the Stompa.

Then you can also model orks holding on to the legs for the transport part

That would be hilarious, it would need the open topped rule (as far as hitting the occupants are concerned), but it would be hilarious.

Could put a a KFF on it and just say the tweeked the old shield to make it a 5+ on the front and side. How does that work?

I seriously wish all Ork transport vehicles got a KFF upgrade option for 50 pts. Much more expensive then a trukk and almost half the price of base BW but worth it.

Yeah , sadly it is the only inv save orks have....Which I thought was kinda silly since orks can do almost anything when it comes to making new toys.
