Subject: Artillery question regarding multiple shots

I don't have my BRB right now So I just have a quick question about artillery. If I have a battery of 5 Gunz, each with a blast, when I go to fire them do I fire 1 and then roll to hit with scatter and everything and from their roll each remaining gun with just the scatter dice and no D6? or do I scatter with 2 D6 for each gun?
|
I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

If they are just Blast, each shot separately scatters 2D6". If they are also Barrage, place and scatter 2D6" the first shot, then the other markers are "flipped" (scatter dice but no D6) adjacent to the first marker as described under "Multiple Barrage" in the Barrage special rule (in the appendix at the back of the Rulebook).

Trying to remember why I thought each Mek Gun and crew was a seperate unit but all together occupying the same chart selection. Must've seen it in a batrep video on youtube. Good thing this thread got me to reread the Mek Gun stuff. Lobbas have Hvy1 Barrage Blast, so a battery of 5 would follow the Multiple Barrage rule, neat.

but my KMKs would just keep rerolling, perfect, better chance of a direct hit on what i need.

Yes, you won't mess up the entire shooting attack by missing wildly with the first shot.
But remember that non-Barrage Blasts still follow the normal process for wound allocation (i.e. model closest to the shooting unit), so can't be used to 'snipe' characters out of units like Barrage can.

True but a walking barrage is more effective against large numbered units. The way the mek guns are deployed I'll have to rethink my setup. I was gonna toss in a mixture with the misbelief each was a seperate unit able to fire at another target. Since these are batteries I'm going to field one type for the entire unit. This could get pricey in models because I want options when I approach the table and build a list to play against different factions.

when in doubt, field one gun as a traktor kannon to fight against aircraft. it can still target ground units just hits on a 6.

If it's a blast (can't recall at this time) then no, as blasts can't be fired as snap shots.

Traktor Kannons aren't blast. Its a singe shot but it has some pretty nifty rules against vehicles (Auto inflicts Immobilized + any other results rolled)
