I... actually don't know. Help?

On my upcoming Daemons, I want them to stand in literal rivers of blood, with ther feet soaked deep... call me macabre if you want.
Now, I just need to know the best way to achieve that effect. I've been thinking about spreading PVA glue on the bases and painting it with BFTBG paint, or taking a glue gun to achieve the effect of splashes, etc. Any other ideas on how I can achieve that effect? Automatically Appended Next Post:
That's how I want my bases to look.

your pva idea would be my first attempt, but mixing blood for the blood god and/or red ink with water effects paint could be good too.

I was considering something similar this morning actually.
Put some PVA glue on a pallette, let it dry and try painting it with BFTBG and see what happens.
If it works well you know that you can use it to create lakes on your bases, even if you have to build them up slowly but surely.

Water effect mixed with red paint, then put bftbg over the top.. Splashes can be made with hairs, superglue or glue gun as you say. Might be worth getting realistic water to make frothy effect too

I've got 3 ways to go about it in my head right now:
1, I put on PVA glue and when that's dry, I paint on BFTBG
2, I just pour BFTBG on the bases
And 3, I mix PVA and BFTBG.

Consider a heavy body gloss gel (most major acrylic paint manufacturers should have one amongst their mediums - both Liquitex and Golden do, for sure). They're meant to have enough body to form peaks and ripples, but also dry clearer and can be applied in thicker layers than PVA. Having an acrylic base, they also take inks quite well, either glazed over the top or mixed right in before application. Silicone sealant (clear caulk), another common DIY water effect, tends to shed paint, while the gel mediums grip it like any other layer of paint would.
Were I to try and replicate the pictured bases, I'd hit the base tops with a layer of deep maroon or burgundy paint, layer up and sculpt the gloss gel, then hit it with some inks or a layer of BftBG.
