Back in September, Kal-El and I agreed to a trade in the form of one of my LED-lit Space Marines in exchange for his painting services on two of my other LED-lit marines. The intent was to use the final painted products' pictures as the finishing touches on my LED tutorial thread before sending them along to their final destination as gifts for a friend.

I mailed him the three models, including one power armor marine (his payment), one Terminator, and the Plasma Cannon marine that is featured in the tutorial thread (one of a kind). Time passed and after multiple PMs I finally heard back from him in early November, when he stated that he'd gotten distracted and would have the models finished shortly. That was the last communication from him despite numerous attempts by me to contact him. He seems to have disappeared from the forums, so it seems that I have no hope of any positive resolution on this transaction. However, I want to publicly point out the loss of these models and warn anyone away from doing any business with Kal-El in the future.

I hate it when people rip off others.
Honestly I've been in this position before, depending on the value I'd basically write a letter threatening legal action. I know some people find this silly but you have his address and the communication audit trail, its basically theft and you should treat it that way.

I hope you get your models back my friend and I am sad to hear another scam occurring here.

Stupid move on his part, but man I love that LED idea!

For what it's worth I don't think he went into the deal intending to take the models and run, but it doesn't change the end result, which is that some one of a kind works have vanished into the ether. It's part of the reason I've taken such a long hiatus from the hobby, lots of disappointment lately.
