As title. When do the penalties from regrouping (can't move, only fire snap shots) actually end?

For example, a unit falling back gets assaulted. The unit regroups and kills the charging unit in overwatch (or wins combat). Can the unit on their turn act normally?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Hmm..... I can't actually find anything on how long it lasts... The way I'm reading it, once a unit has regrouped, they spend the rest of the game snap shooting and unable to move. That CAN'T be right though... What am I missing O.o

They get the penalties during the turn they regrouped, and that's it.

Yup, as the rules currently stand, there is no end time listed for the effects of Regrouping. So the unit will indeed be bound by them for the rest of the game.

It's generally assumed, however, that it lasts just for that turn.

Yeah this came up last night in a game (Eldar vs Sister/White Scars). Guardians lose combat and fall back into Eldrad's Fearless bubble (thank you Will of Asuryan), while Celestine declared a charge, my Guardians regrouped and killed her in Overwatch. Though now I'm thinking we screwed up with the Guardians, and they should have kept running.

So after some discussion, we decided it only applied to the turn they regrouped on.

I believe the rules say that if a unit falling back becomes Fearless it auto regroups and ignores the penalties.

It just says that fearless models automatically pass regroup tests. The part about ignoring effects is in regards to units that have gone to ground.

Ah I knew that was somewhere in the book, but didn't have my brb to check so never mind.
