Been seeing a few list pop up with Stormtroopers (yes I know they have a new name but I love calling them stormtroopers) with Vultures and Thunderbolts with them. I've been looking around trying to find how this came about and the best I could find was someone said that Forgeworld was going to update it back in November 2014 but as of now I still don’t see anything that states the Stormtrooper book can take them. Has there been an update saying that I can use Imperial Navy units like normal just as if I was taking them for my Guard army? If so my dream of running a stormtrooper army that's actually not fluffy could come to fruition.

doesn't FW basicly say the Imperial Navy fighters can be taken by any IoM faction?

Just do it man. MT is not an OP army, who is going to kick up,a fuss?

I've been building this same sort of force. I've got a Ground Assault Formation out of the stormtroopers book and I ally them with a platoon of IG so I can get the Thunderbolt. It's a bit of a tax to pay and it slightly hurts the theme of this fast moving elite army, but it's good to have cheap units to hold ground while my stormies zip around in their Tauroxes.

Tempestus Scions, though a different codex are considered the same faction as Astra Militarum. Any unit made by FW that can be taken by IG, can be taken by Tempestus Scions through the appropriate Imperial Armour book.
