So I my local store had our Matter of Honor yesterday. We had a 4 person turn out, so not terrible. I flew:

32 Battle Cruiser
06 Picard 9
03 Glin Daro
04 Cloaked Mines

32 Battle Cruiser
05 Gul Dukat
03 Jennifer Sisko
04 Cloaked Mines

28 USS Enterprise D
03 Miles O'Brien (MU)

The basic idea was to have some big hull, non borg, ships and repair damage from the space bacteria.

Round 1 was against

IKS Negvar
Martok 9

Negvar class
Picard 8

Regent's Flagship
Indy Flagship (scan)
Gorn Commander
Mr Spock

Jennifer Sisko disabled Spock. My opponent had some bad luck on the bacteria rolls, each ship took damage turn 1. He was also very unlucky with the are olls for clearing the bacteria. My Enterprise took damage, but O'Brien took care of it. I flew up the middle, he sent his massive 8 hull flagship against me and tried to flank me with the other 2. The cloaked mines stalled him. I was able to focus fire on thr flagship and take it out turn 3 or 4. O'Brien flew between the Klingons to break them up. Picard and Martok widdled away Dukat, but Picard and O'Brien finished off the Klingons turn 5 or 6.

W 1-0

As I thought klingon ships were ill suited for this scenario, too few shields. It took very little to take out my opponent's IKS Negvar because it had taken 4 damage from the bacteria. My opponent did do anything wrong, but he had some awful rolls that extra shields could have compensated for.

Round 2

Excelsior
Picard 9
4 shot photons

Exceldior
Spock
4 shot photons

Fighter Squadron 6
Coordinated Attack

Fed Fighters
Coordinated Attack

High Yield Photons

This list actually worried me because I had virtually no defense dice and he had high quality torpedoes plus fighters.

Jennifer Sisko disabled Fighter squad 6's coordinated attack. I have no shame in the fact that I took this one slow and steady. I did 3 turns of 1 straights to keep keep bacteria down. My opponent tried to keep his big ships close to the fighters, he had one unfortunate bump that wrecked his plan and kept his ships infected. Turn 4 I dropped my mines. His fighters had taken a beating from the bacteria, squad 6 was down to 2 tokens and the other had 2 also. He didn't want to risk the mines so he broke his formation. The fighters veered to left and right, the Excelsiors backed up out of my range. I gunned it doing 4s. Picard and O'Brein destroyed the generic fighters, Dukat took squad 6 down to 1 token. Turn 5 his Picard and Spock ganged up on Dukat. My Picard and Dukat destroyed his Picard. O'Brien got off an amazing close range attack hitting spock for 4 hits and a crit. Spock had already taken 3 damage from bacteria so 5 was enough to take him out.

W 2-0

Round 3

USS Voyager
Kirk 9
Transphasics
Paris

Enterprise E
Picard 8
Attack Pattern Omega
Photons

USS Equinox

I think the general idea behind this was to fire away with Kirk and Picard while using the Equinox to clean bacteria.

Jennifer Sisko disabled Paris and transphasics. Every ship except the Equinox, his and mine , took damage turn 1 from bacteria. It was funny everyone gunned it turn 1. Kirk was exchanging fire with Picard and O'Brien turn 1. Voyager was left limping and my Enterprise lost some Shields. Turn 2 my Picard finished off Voyager. My Enterprise and the Equinox took some pot shots at each other. His Picard got off a great torpedo shot on Dukat stripping the shields and sending 1 crit to the hull ATTACK PATTER OMEGA, instant Warp Core Breach. Dukat took some shields off of the E. Turn 3, you guessed it, CORE BREACH, Dukat was gone. Next 2 turns O'Brien chased the Equinox down and my Picard went head to head with his. I think I got both his ships on turn 5 or 6.

This was a fun game against one of our youngest players. I was very pleased to see the young fellow hit me with such a good combo of Picard and APO, nice one

W 3-0, and took home a Pagh

I was pleased with how the list did. Daro and O'Brien saved my bacon in games 2 & 3, they were healing left and right. At first I didn't think Jennifer Sisko did much, but I realized that out of 3 games non of my opponents re enabled their stuff. Spock on the flagship with a free scan would have been bad. Those transphasics turn 1 in game 3 would have been game changing. So I think she was worth it.

So in all the scenario was more fun than I thought, but that could have to do with good opponents rathrt than anything else. Everyone was happy to see no borg. Everyone is also planning to come to Peak Performance so for that. Now I just have to think of a list for that, maybe Tholians

Well done Baldrick!
Congrats on not taking Borg too!

I'm afraid I succumbed - my fleet was
Octahedron
Weyoun (6)
One

Sphere
Martok
Ind Fleet Captain (Dom)

Scout Cube
Drone
Quark (Projected Stasis Field)

I easily defeated a Cardassian fleet of 4 Galors in my first game.
Second game was close vs Feds with Voyager, Sovereign and Enterprise D with a combo of dual Spocks and Sulus (using mirror versions) but I won

I lost the final game to a Borg fleet of Octahedron, Sphere and B'rel

Still took home the IKS Pagh for second place

My Fleet:

Trager
Dukat
Indy fleet captian (free 1 bank, turn, forward)
Unnecessary Bloodshed
Glinn Daro
Aft weapons array

Reklar
Gul Macet
Gul Madred admirl
Boheeka
Aft Weapons array

1st Wave Attack Fighters
Galor Class Phaser Banks
Photo Lock-on
Flanking attack

Won 1st place...our local meta has no Borg at OP's

1st match against 2 breen and 2 fighters tough match up took alot to whittle the fighters down. She only killed the Reklar and I got all but the 1st wave fighters

2nd match against MU regants flagship with Mu worf , Klingon Negh'var with worf, Alpha hunter with Karr... Madred took out Karr and gutted his plans lost only the Trager

3rd match anainst Frenghi hijinks 3 marauders one B'rel. He had some talented flying but in the end I got him.

Congrsts guys

-emperorpenguin

One and Weyoun, nasty combo. Though I don't think you can use Quark with PSF on anything buyba Klingon ship. IIRC the FAQ, says it can't be more than 5 pts after the fsction penalty, might want to double check that one.

-Runestonegrinder

Nice to see a pure Cardi fleet. Madred is a beast. That is awesome that you guys have some folks flying Breen and Ferengi

I did check the WizKids forum and they explicitly state that if you take the Fleet Captain who gives tech cheaper, the discount applies to Quark, so it was only 5 points. Bizarre ruling but hey!
My opponents were querying why I had a tech cheapening Fleet Captain but no tech in my build......

Runestonegrinder - How did those fighters not just keep popping turn after turn with the space herpies!?

Mr Baldrick... Honestly that Trager is just as nasty if you can keep it outside multipe shooting arcs, it's very hard to kill. my second opponent was dead set on killing Dukat so what can you do.

As for the Space Bacteria (herpies): Our TO used his own scenerio rules, in his the bacteria did two things, in the attack phase it converted one hit to crit if the target ship had a token, in the movement phase on any hard turns or red manuvers you had to roll an attack die on a hit result you took damage, on a crit you took a normal hit but lost action, due to the confusion of sudden hull decompression.

Our TO never made his new ruleset known untill we had chosen our fleets and started, he just told us that he was changing them because he didn't like them. I liked his changes made for some interesting flying. It also felt like what happened in the show a little bit more.

We called them "Space AIDS" and "Space Herpies" too.

Look up an old 80's movie called "Ice Pirates" for some more Space Herpies action!

Oh, and more on your battle report:

When we played this OP, I think it never went past turn 4 or 5. Only one player brought a fleet to repair the Space Herpies, which did a fantastic job of it! The only bad part, he really had nothing to deal with the opposing fleet. So it became a time thing- can he repair enough damage and keep the Space Herpies off his ship before his opponent blows up from Space Herpies? The answer was no, he couldn't.

Everyone pretty much just accepted the fact that they were gonna lose Hull every turn. Spending an action to remove Space Herpies just didn't do enough. What I mean is, if I had a high skill captain and could use a Target Lock or Battlestations action instead of removing a Space Herpie to shoot at my opponent- I did. Especially if my opponent ignored the Space Herpies and took hull damage.

Roast chicken anyone?

Ice Pirates is part of my 'holy trinity' of awesome 80s low rent scifi, along with Battle Beyond The Stars and Space Hunter: Adventures in The Forbidden Zone.

I have a warm place in my heart for Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn.
