I am trying to find a tutorial on how to paint my wooden plank bases to look like dead wood, like the greyish looking wood that has been exposed to the weather for years and years but I can't find one, does anyone know of one or can help me with instructions on how to do it. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

You can't fix stupid, but you sure as hell can kill it.

That's not exactly what I'm looking for, I'm building a freebooters themed Ork army and I want to build pirate deck planked bases for them so I am looking to painted them like old weathered, grey, cracked and dry wooden planks... Thank you again for the help.

I would base the wood in a light tan, give it a black wash and then drybrush it in pale gray.

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!
