Every building has a story. Even Administratum Building 4357 has a story. It started life as one of many prefab Imperial constructions on the Hive World Fortrak. Its original purpose was to calculate and house the tithe records for this world. Cogitators hummed throughout out the hallowed halls, constantly codifying the required flow of this worlds contribution to the Imperium: humans for the grist mill of the ever present wars.

In the early years it was a proud building, its purpose resolute and confident. It made sure the Emperor had bodies to prosecute his wars on the xenos scum of the galaxy.

In time the planet and its people, began to resent their purpose. The constant flow of its best and brightest off world, most to never be heard from again, began to take its toll. Discontent set in, which blossomed into seething hate.

This is when The Primordial Annihilator made its play. Cults sprang up, slowly at first, but gathering steam quickly. Meetings in the deep dark places of the hives sprung up. Meeting places lit by dim lights that played shadows across the walls carved with symbols that seemed wrong and twisted by something not of this reality.

Building 4357 cared nothing for this. Its walls stood strong as they always had. The surfaces may have been corroded with time and neglect, but the core of the building stood firm in its purpose.

When the dark and secret meetings metastasized into all out rebellion, the leaders of the cults chose Building 4357 as their first target. It stood as a symbol of all the Imperium took without any recompense or remorse.

When their bomb went off at the center of Building 4357, the structure ripped apart in shards of screaming plasteel and cogitators. The damage was near catastrophic. Some of the walls still stood but the roof was all but gone. A few slanting trusses clung to the edges but they offered no shelter from the elements now. The building was grievously wounded, but not destroyed. It still had fight in.

When the Imperial retribution came, swiftly and violently, it came in the form of a small contingent of Dark Angels. They struck with no warning and slaughtered all in their path. Chaos had tainted the planet and no one was spared. The rebellion quickly descended into a rout. The leaders of the cult found themselves pushed back by the advancing tide of the Emperor's wrath incarnate. Eventually the last of them and their commandeered war machines found shelter in the ruins of Building 4357. The cultists fortified the building and dug in. They were determined to make the Imperium pay for its neglect and callousness. The building had other ideas.

When the Dark Angels struck, they did so with all of the fury the Legiones Astartes are known for. Plasma blazed, missiles shrieked, and bolter thumped their death and destruction at the cultists fortified in Building 4357. The cultists, on their home turf and well fortified, were confident in their ability to hold out against the initial storm and then strike back against the smaller number of space marines.

That is when the building struck. Seemingly solid walls collapsed with no provocation, allowing the deadly stream of death unimpeded access into the corrupted humans within. Previously reinforced floor sections collapsed dropping the defenders to their deaths and crushing those below in rubble.

The Dark Angel's victory was swift and absolute. No survivors were left within the shelter of Building 4357.

My daughter and I started on a small terrain making project (a couple small foam core ruins) that blossomed into something a bit bigger than we intended. I am going to try and chronicle the project here.

The front "door" has been blown open enough to easily fit a rhino. One side is ruined enough to allow Terminator bases through, the other side allows dreadnought sized bases. The back should allow a Land Raid er through (I don't have one to test it with).

Here are the pictures so far from all 4 sides of the piece. Its about 24"x18".

I will post more as I continue stages.

Here is a few updated shots. I finished the vertical and horizontal detailing on the front and sides finally. I also tried my hand at some resin casting of some spare bits and was quite pleased with how they turned out. As you can see I am using them to decorate under each window. I like the look so far. Hopefully we will work on the tile flooring this weekend.

At first this just looked like the old foamcore buildings I made with my friends back in high school with the Cityfight templates. Now that you're adding detail, I'm interested to see where it goes!

Just a small update today, I didn't have much time last night. I managed to get the imperial plaques on the front left corner. I have to say that the resin is pretty awesome to work with. I believe I will be using more of it in the future. Here is a closeup picture showing the corner I worked on last night. You can see the plaques I trimmed to conform to the collapsed walls.

A little more work done. The plan is to spend most of tomorrow on it.

I have the ubiquitous Aquilla on the front. The other one would have been blown off when the door was enlarged.

We also started on the flooring. I hope to have that done tomorrow. There will be a large crater in the middle as well.

Whew, been forever since I updated. Just been a bit crazy. At least I managed to get some work done in the meantime. Tile flooring is done and some of the debris has been added including the central crater.

Looks amazing!! The only thing I am not a fan with is the broken areas of the walls and floors, they are to smooth. They should be a bit more jagged.

Mind you, that is a minor issue.

Just a quick update today. Managed to finish up some details and get the base coat/primer on. Lots more to do now. I am contemplating adding rivets to all the external uprights just to add some more detail. I do agree that the holes in the wall should be more jagged. I am not sure why I didn't notice that before. I am trying to decide the best way to accomplish that at this stage. Any suggestions?

That's a good sized building, nice work I've been following this since you started.

Nice work on the arches too, they are a really difficult to cut on foamboard.

Great so far, now give it an awesome paint job
