I think I remember this being brought up before, but I couldn't find the post. What can we do about over watch and toning down the mini- shooting phase in the middle of you opponent's assault phase?

I have 2 ideas floating around:

1) make over-watch fire happen at full BS or maybe -1BS but you loose the shooting phase if you do.

2) make it so you can only fire over-watch if you did not move in the previous turn

This way, decisions have to be made instead of rolling 86 dice and see who rolls the most 6+

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

It should just go away, theres far too much "roll a million dice for feth all result" in this game.

If assault armies have to stand there and get shot at, then shooty armies have to take it on the chin as well!

This isn't what you are asking for, but here there is an overwatch rule that is a much different game.

During a shooting phase, nearby enemy infantry can overwatch against the active army's units. It isn't snap fire, and the enemy unit and the unit being overwatched against shoot in initiative order.

So you can have a unit shoot at a target on the other side of the board, and a nearby enemy infantry unit can overwatch against the shooting unit, possibly killing it before it can get a shot off. The shooting unit can split fire between its target and the units shooting over watch against it. The models can charge in their initiative steps too. Heavy weapons are unwieldy.

They did to implement over watch like they do in Xcom: enemies unknown.

Instead of shooting you can elect to prepare ambush.

You select a firing lane of your facing which is only 45 degree angle and you get to shoot anything that moves into or past that 45 degree line of sight even if they do no stop there or shoot.
