Hey guys,
finally deciding to turn some of the grey on my shelf green like it should be!
I am going for the Goff clan, finished my first boy today that I painted up as a test model.

C&C welcomed and appreciated before I dive into painting the full squad! Keep in mind this model will see the table top and is in no way trying to be a 10/10 paint job.

That's a really nice looking Goff!

The scheme is almost identical to my own Goff boyz. Have you considered using some of the Citadel technical paints on yer ladz? In particular, the Typhus Corrosion and Blood for the Blood God look awesome when used in moderation on Choppas and armour plates.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I currently don't own those technical paints but was thinking about at least getting the blood one for their weapons.

Great paint work. I agree with NidLifeCrisis, a bit of rust and blood would benefit from more atmospheric look.

Agree with all above, really nice job! I especially like the basing, actually, very in line with the model and not overworked. Nice!

(and oh, Blood for the Blood God always works )

That is a fine and handsome boy you have there!
You might consider 'brightening' the cutting edge of his axe before putting any blood on it. I like this effect to show my opponent which part of my boyz' weapons mean business, and to represent the a freshly sharpened axe, with new metal showing through.

Very nice paintjob! Only thing I'd suggest is to paint the base.

Nice job, looks pretty friggin close to what 'eavy metals orks on the box look like. The real question is how long did he take, haha. 3 hours a model on orks is gonna get real old real fast.

I like it. You do the skin similar to me. As a few have mentioned, typhus corrosion "dirties" orks up a bit, which is always a good thing!

Whoops, sorry, on the first glance I thought the base edge is plastic/black.

Ehhhhh, yes and no! I normally paint infront of the TV, and I can smash out 5 at a time this way, the skin is probably close to 50% of the painting time too so once that is done its all just layer + highlight nearly!

I dirtied up some bits with the Typhus Corrosion and like the look of that, also got a bit going with Blood for the Blood God... not sure how I feel about that one!!! Havent taken a photo yet, also got 5 more boyz on the way.

It is, I always leave the base rims black.

I like the model looks, but im kinda weird in my ork boyz, i like making mine look more unique. To many armies all have the same paint schemes. My orks have large amounts of red, purple and yellow thrown in with the regular brown/black/silver.

just my 2 cents but as I said above looks amazing.

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

Looking good. The only thing that stands out to me is that the haft of his axe looks too flat/clean. With the dirty and weathered look of the rest of the model it could use some wear and tear to make it match up.
