I made a new Cannoness for my SOB army, this one with the Mantle of Ophilia and two plasma pistols. (I am pretty sure that is legal ). I decided the large cape I sculpted was a prime surface to try blending on. How successful was I? Should I have brought the highlights out more and went more extreme?

BTW, She started as a Seraphim I put a normal back pack on, swapped out the bolt pistols for Plasma, Put on a head from my bits box (Maybe something Warmachine, she was wearing goggles), and sculpted a cape and hood on. The thing behind her head is the headrest from a Immolator turret I got from a Exorcist kit.

These are photos taken with my Iphone with the light in my mini cabinet:

Cool conversion.

As for the cloak, it looks good. I think perhaps a few more highlights would help it pop l, but it's a damn sight better than the blending I've managed, so I'm probably not the most qualified to comment further.

Looks cool though.

I have decided that two plasma pistols is not legal, so I'll swap one out and work on the cape more tonight.

You need another light source to make it clearer, but man you are doing some fine painting. I want to see that blend more obviously.

I remember reading one of your old threads when you were really bummed about your paintjobs - I hope you are a lot happier with this one, it is fantastic.

I am quite happy with it now, I pulled out the blend more with more highlights. I also gave her a power sword and tried to make it look like it is glowing.

Some quick pictures with my iphone the lights in my mini case and a sheet of paper. I need to make a light box or something.

Second attempt, I have tried blending on her armor as well. (Bolt pistol and plasma pistol is legal, she starts with bolt pistol and chain sword and you replace chain sword with plasma pistol leaving the bolt pistol.)

That is brilliant - that purple colour is absolutely spot on.

IS THAT AN UNDRILLED BOLTER BARREL?
