I'm back again with yet another list. This time around, it's 1000 points of Nurgley CSM goodness. My brother is visiting next week and he hopes to play some 1000 point games so I intend on having both a Dark Angels list and CSM list ready to go. I'm hoping to use models I already own but I'm open to purchases if people feel that will help. Let's begin!
HQ:
Typhus
- Typhus and Typhus Accessories
Troops:
Plague Zombies x20
Plague Zombies x20
Plague Marines x7
- Champion with Combi-Plasma and Plague Knife
- 2 with Plasma Guns
- All in Rhino with Havoc Launcher and Combi-Plasma
Fast Attack:
Heldrake
- Baleflamer
Heavy Support:
Obliterator x1
- MoN
Obliterator x1
- MoN
Total at 997 points.
I redid the whole list. In my opinion the list is a lot more cruel than the previous one. With cruelty comes effectiveness (hopefully). I feel the list would fair well in both kill point and objective games. I would slap Typhus with one of the squads of zombies while keeping the other squad near. If it's objective based, just slap them on an objective and wait it out.
Keeping the Obliterators separate for deep striking. Put them where I need them.
And finally, hopefully the Plague Marines will zoom up the board and tear things up where ever they are.
I feel these changes fix the concerns I had earlier so I'm quite happy with it.
Thoughts? Remember, this is just casual.

If you love thy brother then do not covet 3 heldrakes...
JK, heldrakes aren't that scary anymore.
Look into IA13 for awesome stuff.

Very first thing you need to do is get rid of the Mark on Cultists and put it on the Obliterators. Doesn't matter how friendly you want to be, that is a MUST have. And on the Cultists it is pretty wasted anyway. Let them die if they need to die. They need to protect the Obliterators from being charged and that's it.
If you jump up to 1250 you can swing more Cultists and turn the Helbrute into a Ferrum Infernus with the 4th Quadrant Rebellion Legacy, giving Cultists within 12" Fearless. Like a pseudo Helcult but better because the Dread won't go crazy. Makes a nice little fire base that advances all game when you group them together like that but I can't see that fitting in this list here.
Other than the Obliterator Marks, this list looks pretty balanced really. The tough Bikes are offset by lack of other targets, giving your brother a real chance. I expect you'll both have fun if you don't get bad dice and the Dark Angel one is a similar powered build.

Not sure how I forgot the mark on the Obliterators, but I definitely did somehow. My bad.

Completely reworked the list. Thoughts?

At 1k you might be better off just using CSM with Mon. Cheaper on points that you can use somewhere else. Try using 2-3 man squads of MoN Oblits and don't use the Helturkey. And maybe not use Typhus but a lord or sorcerer with MoN.
Hope this helps.

Do you have access to IA: Vraks? Necrosius would be a much better fit in this list since Typhus can't get in the Rhino with the Plagues. And Necrosius allows the Imperial Armour version of Zombies. Cheaper by a lot and an additional ability or two.
If you can't put Necrosius in there, then I'll say it's again a pretty solid choice. I don't like running Obliterators in 1 man units but that is a personal choice. Make sure to bubble wrap as much as possible because I'm sure the Dark Angels will have Plasma and that's 1st Blood bait.
Your mobility is pretty low though. I don't see a way to improve it, but it is a concern.

I was actually thinking about getting Necrosius. I'm painting my models as Apostles of Contagion after all. Only downside is that forgeworld models often cost way too much.

Go RH and save points on spawns and zombies. Also get laze rapiers to possibly replace expensive oblits. RH also has better fast attack options then the heldrake with a broken neck.
