Hmm. Still only single source? I'd really like to play, but don't feel like bringing only harlequins when there are flyers and heavy hitting units that I physically can not deal with, haha. I'll consider pure eldar, but I'll need to think about it.

I think with pure Eldar you'll be able to find something..... . The reason to stick with the one source is the game has become so overtly convoluted with the plethora of releases and codices etc. The idea is to have a toned down event to give the average player a chance to come in and compete. Even is he's not up with the latest meta. Also from the format we only had like 4 people who didn't win a game and everyone was able to accrue points in some way. I was happy to see the results somewhat competitive . Also I think we are a bit of a novelty as the only people running single source events.
But you brought Harlequnins right? I think you kicked a lot of butt and were one of only 2 people to go undefeated right? I was happy you guys from TOGIT came. It's great getting guys from other NJ stores to come out for the event! Hope to see you and the Eldar there! Believe me the 2 source is sooo tempting I've got my Eldar , DE almost ready to go....

Haha, true point. Nah, I only went 2-1 with the quins last time, but I see what you're saying. I'm opting for fun harlequins rather than a super competitive list, so I guess I am challenging myself more than anything. I'll still consider for sure though.

I know you guys have a lot of top tier players at TOGIT that go to a lot of events. What do you think of the format we are using? Did you feel it offered different ways to win ? Who did you play in the last round ? Also are you guys going to be doing anything with Eldar for future events? You see the adjustments we've made.
I'm trying to get as much feedback from the people attending as possible . The formats for the events are always open for tweaking to improve the event for everyone.

Sign me up! I have two questions, 1. Does the army army have to be painted to use(I have a blood Angels and Skitarri army primed but not painted) 2. What about Imperial Knight Armies? If not I will be either using my Ultramarines or my Greyknights.

Hey Lou glad you made the tournament ! It was good seeing a long time Cellar Dweller there ! You only need be fully painted to get the bonus point. Non painted is fine to use. You can use your Knights but it can only be one source so I guess 5 would fit in 1850? Would be cool to see on the table that's for sure !

Thanks Joe! The other Army I was looking to play is "Crimson Slaughter" I played a couple games with them, and they were really alot of fun. So will see for that day what I will bring.

So warp charges are 15 max meaning if a army has 14 base WC and he rolls a 6 on the D6, he'll still only have 15 WCs?

Yes , the reason a lot of that has to do is with the time allotted for each game. I`ve played with summoning and if you don`t cap it you might never get the game off. It took us almost 4 hours one time and still barely finished. The bigger the physic phase and the more involved it can really slow down the overall game. Also 15 seems pretty reasonable to work with. I`m running Nids and might have up to 8 or 12 warp charges myself without the extra die. So I can feel the pain. What army do you play? So far all the tweaks we`ve done have been well received with a lot of positive feedback. If you have any questions feel free to PM me anytime and hope you can attend.

Well, as a Grey Knight player I can tell you that I didn't like the cap myself. The reason being that one of the few strengths of my codex is the psychic phase and the Sanctic Daemonology school. One of my favorite combos is to Gate of Infinity in close and then use Vortex of Doom. VoD is WC3 and you perils if you fail the test, therefore I throw 7 dice at it on average to make sure that I pass. Capping at 15 means that I end up using more than half my dice on that combo alone (about three dice to gate, then the other 7), which is one of my few hard hitting ranged attacks. The reason this hurts so much though is because GK pay such a premium to have all those extra dice. My base army starts at 14 dice when everything is on the table so I'm actually losing a lot of Warp Charges over the course of the entire game with the 15 dice cap.

On a side not, I'm wondering if maybe you should allow Grey Knighs to ally with Inquisition and Assassins or at least to incorporate them into their FoC. Single source is sort of a call back to an edition when GK had them as part of their codex. Without being able to ally them in then it really feels more like I'm working with half a book. Of course I wouldn't want special consideration, just a thought I had as I was having trouble tweaking my list without any low cost units in the GK codex.

PS: Should note that I'm trying to confirm that I'll be at the June tournament. Have a big event at work that week, but I think I should be good by Sunday. Just can't confirm yet.

CKyle those are good points. The main reason for the cap was time. We didn't want the physic phase slowing the game down so much. But you bring up good points. I'll have to check with John and Steve to figure something out.
The format is always open to tweaking to improve the overall event. That's why feedback on the forum is good. I'll let you know.

I play Daemon in 7ed, my army pretty much has no shooting phase... the psychic phase is literally the only time I can shoot something and cast the important buffs. Limiting the WC really isn't fair.

I texted Steve and explained people were questioning the cap. He`s going to check with John and get back to me. Steve is the Judge and TO and John is the store mgr./event organizer. I`m just here to help organize , play test and get in as many games as possible!! I didn`t even practice with or work on my list for last event as I thought we overbooked and was going to have to sit it out. That`s why I`d rather just help and play!! As soon as I hear from them I`ll update everyone. Vulkan were you at the last event? I played Daemons in the first round? Was that you?

I am in! I had a blast at the last one. You should consider making this an ITC event. I heard it is super easy and it gives people an incentive to play.

Hey Carlos how are you pal? Glad you had a great time! I've been reviewing the ITC format and will be incorporating some of it into future events. Are you bringing Tyranids again? I'll be bringing mine as I want to enter them in the contest for best painted.

Also for the warp charges . We will REMOVE the warp charge cap for this event as a test and see how it works. I just have to get John to update it on the thread. Again we are always interested in feedback to improve the overall event for everyone.

Quick question, I just got my Imperial Armour- Siege of Vraks book, and I was thinking of taking my Death Korps of Krieg army to this upcoming tournament. I am assuming that is legal, since you are allowing forgeworld, but I wanted to double check. Thanks
