Long question short, dark reapers ignore jink, part of the reason intercept is good is to force jink on incoming flyers, while dark reaper exarchas get that extra shot, no one will ever jink to save the plane against it. So by removing that option from your opponent, are you partially lowering how useful that adl with icarus w.e. is?

This isn't really a rules question, so much as it is a tactics question.

And to answer you: It's undoubtedly better. Enemies cannot jink, therefore they straight won't have the option to attempt to jink to save against glancing/penetrating hits.

Blowing up the unit you're intercepting more reliably seems like a win-win to me.

It's news to me people intercept just to make the opponent jink. Here I thought it was to blow the thing out of the sky. A snap-firing unit can still do damage; a dead unit often gives you VP.

In my opinion, I'd rather destroy a flyer than just suppress it for a turn, so no, I don't see it as less effective.

Also, the (confusingly named) You Make Da Call sub-forum is more for rules questions / interpretations, rather than opinion-gathering, so I'll suggest nudging this thread to General or maybe Tactics.

With out an Icarus lascannon it's kinda annoying shooting at flyers because one you don't have interceptor and two because they don't jink it's upsetting when you get that weapon destroyed result that gets rid of a missile, or a less than par weapon, or a duplicate weapon which is what happened in my last game. I would rather him had jinked and saved it, so his 3 TL lascannons were snap shooting then let his 2 TL lascannons fire at full bs.
