I have a pre-heresy Iron warriors force, however there is a campaign at a local GW that only allows 40k codexes. I would like to use imperial fists for some reasons I will explain in the list below. Excuse the heresy please

I am new to 40k from early 6th edition, and I was wondering if there are any huge holes in my army. It is supposed to be decently fluffy [despite the IF counts as (hey they did have very similar combat styles!!)].
Also, keep in mind I have 105 spare points to add anything or replace with.

1745/1850

Lysander The big hammer screams a Perturabo counts as to me, even if he is a bit weak representing the grimdark man himself.

Contemptor Mortis Dread Anti-air/general swagger
-2x Kheres Assault Cannon
-Cyclone Missle Launcher

Assault Terminator Squad My Cataphractii ride with Perturabo in the Land Raider
-5 bodies (for Petrurabo uses his legionnaires as ammunition)
-5x lightning claw
-Land Raider dedicated transport

Tactical Squad I have alot of bolter marines from 30k, and would like to take advantage of the bolter drill with multiple tactical squads. They are for objective taking and infantry combat, the power fists giving them some AV capability.
-10 bodies
-Veteran Sergeant Upgrade
-Power Fist
-Rhino

Tactical Squad
-same as above^^

Tactical Squad This tactical squad is for holding objectives in my zone. They can also be kept in reserve.
-10 bodies

Vindicator Two vindis to push up and pressure the enemy, as well as clearing troops off of objectives and being a psychological threat.

Vindicator

Wouldn't bother with that 10 man tactical squad if its just going to sit there and do nothing!!!!, consider a scout squad as snipers have a much better range, an with cloaks they will get a 3+ invun which is nice!!!!, maybe consider drop pod, they are great at sitting on objectives as armour 12 is a bitch!!!

@large cats, do you mean 3+ cover save? not invuln, as the camo cloaks only provide +1 cover save.

But yes, the scouts are a great option. I personally am not a fan of them with that specific load out. But for sitting on backfield objectives will work. (I like using naked scouts with bolters in a LSS, jump up, double tap bolters, jump away and annoy the enemy)

I have never use contemtor dreads, so I cant offer any thoughts.

I am a fan of the veteran SGT upgrades on the tac squads. But the powerfists (although they look freakin awesome, are not the best IMO, as a tac squad should be shooting, not assaulting).

The 2 vindicators are a great combo, although, I think a stalker, hunter, or a predator would also work very well, mainly because the downside of a vindicator is its short range, and it wont be effective until turn 2 in most cases.

TH/SS on the termis is a much better idea, its adds so much survivability, and I 1 is not that big a deal for AP2, S8, 3++

Happy wargaming, and good luck

Ok, so I have to be able to use the termies in 30k as well, and you cannot equip a termie squad with the TH/SS combo in 30k. It is either stormbolters/power fists or double lighting claws. Which is a better option for supporting "lysander"? I have about a 40/60 marine/else split in my meta.

THE HERESY IS TOO MUCH

That Tactical squad is way too expensive for sitting on objectives. Either half the squad, combat squad them or replace with scoots.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!
