Straight to the point, if I have an ork with saw a killsaw or a powerclaw, is it possible for such weapons to be used as a CCW instead? This is purely to save on points without having to build an additional model. My assumption is that RAW, this is not doable, but with the ability to proxy/customize models (ie using a nob as a painboy or a mek) and the unclear ruling on such a thing, i'm less interested if you individually would allow this, but what the likely hood of this being excepted in a more formal game or tournament would be
I've always had a lingering concern with fielding such proxy or kustom models, and would be quite disappointed if I couldn't use a normal ork boy as a mek (correct wargear on either) or use my piecemealed big mek, made from a flashgit and nob (with a little necron in there)
Any opinions on both local and large scale metas would be much appreciated!

I'd be fine with it, as long as you told me so that I wouldn't be watching for that PK killing my vehicles.

Some people play a stricter standard of WYSIWYG than I do though. It really depends on who you are playing, so best ask them. Most folks I've played care more what the list says they have than what the models show anyhow...

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Depends more on your gaming community, but even the strictest wysiwyg players are often willing to go with the weapons being "turned off" for the game when discussed before the game.

Not really a question we can definitively answer for you.

Strict RAW is "yeah, sure, whatever", your opponents on the other hand...

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
