Been having fun with dioramas lately. Last time I posted it was my sherman. Today I bring you some stronk Soviet steel! This is the Trumpeter KV-8 kit, however, it came with the additional parts to build it with the 76mm gun. I originally wanted to do that, and was pleasantly surprised when I found the required pieces in the kit. The kit itself is a very fine kit. I'm finding that the dragon kits and trumpeter kits are more finely detailed than the Tamiya kits. That said the tank riders are in fact a Tamiya kit. My one mistake on this kit that I do know of however is forgetting to throw on some decals for unit markings on the turret before I went ahead with the weathering . In my haste I forgot and just went at it...oh well, next time!

I'm getting the feeling I need a bigger light box though, lol. Apologies about the varying shades in the pictures (2nd to last pic is the best representation of color). I need to work on better lighting and maybe get a proper photo editing program. Anyway, hope you like the scene. I'm back to making a 40k kit at the moment and so far so good. Next up I'm turning a Skaven Verminlord into a Keeper of Secrets so look forward to seeing that in the next couple of months! I could probably start a blog on most of this stuff, but I feel I don't post enough to justify it (just end results usually). Any thoughts on that?

Great work though FYI the soldiers are to clean for that amount of mud.

This diorama is really moody, and convincingly muddy. I do agree that the troops are a little clean for how dirty the tank is, but I really like the whole piece.

Thanks! Also thanks for the advice. I probably don't plan on re-using the troops on another diorama so I think I'll splash some mud up on their clothes.

I'm planning the next diorama after my KoS project to hopefully be less moody, lol. I have a nice Panther tank I plan on being in an "at-ease" position. Also significantly, less muddy.
