Hello everyone!

I'm mostly a lurker hiding in the shadows and just stealing ideas from all the awesome WIP threads but now I'm in need of assistance D;

I've always been a fireborn since the Armaggedon codex but with all the new heresy stuff being released i need help understanding a few things. Mostly on all pre heresey salamanders they have diamond shapes with bits segmented out for example here



the left leg has them. Are they kill markings? Squad markings? Or just campaign markings?
Other one is the triangle with the flame on the shoulder guard, mark of the fire drakes?
Any help would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong place please move it xD
