So I was excited to get another game in with the new Craftworlds book! I used a footdar list this time that is as follows:
CAD:

So 5 pods at 1000 points I was kind of worried, but we rolled up the 4th maelstrom mission (3 cards in your hand) and off we went. I knew he would have a pretty hard hitting alpha strike so I kept to cover as much as the board would allow (sorry for no pics). I ended up killing all but 2 of his pods, while I lost all but my aspect host and vypers (these guys are for real). Having bs5 with fire dragons and warp spiders is ridiculous! The guardians and avengers were really there to take the brunt of it, and take it they did. I stretched the avengers to get 2 points on my first turn and that setup one of his assault squads dropping with vulkan and killing 5 avengers. The other side my guardians would have been slaughtered if not for the runes of battle power to up their armor by 1.
I should have reserved the vypers. Only by dumb luck did they not get wrecked by that drop melta turn 1. I jinked, saved getting blown up, and shot off the board into reserves to come back on and wipe the squad who had shot at me. The vypers would only have gotten more effective with more models. I think vypers really need 3+ models to be worth it. 4hp on an av10 frame is kind of like wet paper, the wind rips it to pieces. I didn't get as much psychic stuff off as I wanted, due to very cold psychic dice and hot deny dice on his part. I maybe cast 4-5 powers the whole game (I did lose both the spiritseer and farseer by turn 3, however).
I like the list but might refine it by either dropping the vypers for more aspect warriors, scorpions maybe? or adding in some armor. I am painting my models as the yme-loc craftworld which loves it's tanks so that would be nice and fluffy. A falcon or 2 would have tipped the odds more in my favor.
