I'm in a situation where I can get some greatly discounted models and am running in to a conundrum. Do I get the Sicaran Battle tank to be a force to be reckoned with in my Black Templar army, or do I get the Vostroyans and begin an allied detachment to my Black Templar where I get Wyverns and Ministorum priests (priests attach to TH/SS terms for rerollable armor/invuln saves)?

I think the Vostroyan detachment would look cooler and be a little more fluffy. But the Sicaran is also an awesome looking model and can put out an amazing amount of firepower to go with my mostly close combat focused Black Templar force.

Honestly the Vostroyan will end up costing me a lot more money in the long run and will take me a lot longer to paint and get to the field than the Sicaran. But it just feels like a better fit than the power house forgeworld tank.

Get the discounted guardsmen now? The Sicaran will still be there when you get money to buy it.

Vostroyans are some of the most beautiful models to ever come out of GW. They're generally hard to come by, and given their stance as an army of metal models, it's not too likely they'll stay on GW's shelves forever. The Sicaran isn't going anywhere, neither are Orks.

Fire Raptors are pretty awesome as well. Faced with the choice, I would always opt for that over a Sicaran.
