i put some nuln oil on one of the CSMs metal and it looked to dark would you use a different type of wash

Increase your color selection, use some wash for the crevises and just have fun with it, try painting every little detail you can

Remember if you want red to super pop you can edge highlight right up to orange (or even yellow!) as long as you have an equally brown/black in the recesses and keep the overall majority colour red.

I put on some nuln oil. Going to highlight tonight then post again tomorrow. When the trim is metallic like this, is your highlighting just right up to the shader?

Heres a good tutorial on highlighting, notice how he uses Blazing Orange for the edge highlights but it still looks like a red miniature overall. That was what I was meaning.
