I am currently building an iron warriors army, and I'm looking for suggestions. I want to paint typhus in iron warrior colours but make it clear that he is still nurgle. Would a green shoulder pad suffice to show that even though he is an iron warrior(in my fluff) he still has allegiance to Nurgle? What things could i incorporate into my army to make them clear that they have a mark on them.?. Also , any suggestions for nurgle plague marines?

An ultra-rusty/tarnished version of the normal IW scheme would the the obvious option, representing the conflict between the two sides of their background. So, rusty iron instead of the usual silver, and tarnished/verdigris brass/copper instead of the usual gold.
To me, that would be enough to represent any of your IW with a MoN. You more hard-core/long-term MoN guys could have corrosion holes in their armour and bionic limbs too.

I would think you'd do typhus his own color and if anything give him with a iron warriors shoulder pad if anything. Typhus is death guard jus t like the plague marines but hey that's the beauty of chaos it breaks the chapters into little cabals that team up and I mean if it suited his needs he'd total hook up with the iron warriors and he'd bring zombies and plague marines and prolly recruit a lil of both just with the blessings that ooze from them. So I could definitely see iron warrior plague marines but do think typhus should really be what you think typhus looks like some see bright green some see dingy white I've seen him near black and I'm not sure what else to call mine but dirty, but then add in a shoulder or even a battle standard it's a very easy conversion and what I did with mine. But I will say this how ever you decide to do it if done well i am sure it will be beautifully rotten.

Oh and for the plague marines if your not trying to convert or feel like paying for them just get the gw ones and give em the iron warriors paint. Or if you do want to convert get some of the new satarii stuff give em bionic arms and legs like they fought till the end but had to finally give in to nurgle then of course corossions, fungal growths, ooze, and boils on any flesh exposed. Oh and guts spilling out if you can help it.

+1 for this, it would be subtle and great.

This. I did something similar with my Word Bearers.
Plus, who says it has to be "Typhus"? It could just as easily be your own Iron Warriors character who just so happens to use the same profile as Typhus.
