I have been a long time lurker here and a big WH40K universe fan but just start playing the table top recently. Nice to meet you all.

I'm building a daemon army and have some questions about the WYSIWYG rule and lore of my HQ Daemon prince which I equipped him with the Eternal blade artefact.
Now there is a small concern,I'm a huge sucker for lightning claws and my model has them.The codex said this artefact ‘has taken many different forms’ If I go with with that, Do you guys think that it could have taken form of a pair of lightning claws?
I want some opinion from people around if my explanation would be acceptable to WYSIWYG and if it is lore friendly enough. thanks for taking the time.

Just make sure your opponent knows what they are and what they can do and refer to them, instead, as 'The Eternal Blades'.

I don't see how anyone can have a problem with that.

As for your question for friendly games if you oponent is reasonable you'll be fine. If for some crazy reason your playing 40k competitively or your opponent is an then it won't be ok but people who are that bad and tournaments aren't worth wasting time playing at 40k.

I wouldn't worry too much about people denying you based on your personal preference, as long as you're very clear about what they are when explaining it.

You should always make sure your opponent knows of any stand-ins, proxies, or alternative modeling before beginning, I feel, to help prevent any confusion later down the line.
