So I recently got some of the new cards from fate reforged(around Christmas & January) and I have built a solid competitive Dragon deck that has a worked really well, the mana ramp is insane the last multiplayer game I played at my local club I had 23 mana from 5-6 land, this is because of whisper of the wild giving me 2 and frontier seige giving me 2 each main phase and xenagos giving me mana based on my creatures. Anyway I wanted to make a control deck and I need advise. I am limited to the cards I have so I can't go and spend £100 on 4 sphinxes revelations, but I could maybe trade. I have access to loads of fate reforged, khans of tarkir (though not much), and I, getting some dragons of tarkir soon aswell, Friday to be exact. As for older sets I have access to a little of the innistrad block and most core sets. I wanted it to be blue white control because I used i before and it worked really well but any help would be appreciated.

Sphinx's Revelation is only about $7, or £4.6, £18 for a playset. Also, you might want to post on what type of control you want to play. I run a "control" deck, but it's a mono black discard with a mana curve of 1-2, and only runs 15 lands in the deck.

I with thinking things like cancel and disdainful stroke, or even kill shot because they are just so annoying.

If you want to go control blue/black is usually the easiest color combination to pull off. That being said control doesn't work out well in multiplayer games, you normally only have a couple ways to win the game and the more players there are the more answers there could be to those win conditions. You want to find a nice balance between counter spells and kill spells while having a couple of cards to end the game ( I currently use Tasigur, The Golden Fang and Pearl Lake Ancient) and have cantrips to draw more cards to keep the game in your favor ( Treasure Cruise is a great choice here especially on a budget)

(These are the cards that will actually win you the game)

(I know the mana base is expensive if you want budget 2 radiant fountains, 4 dismal backwater and the rest in basics should work out ok but keep in mind you will be off colors some games without all the dual lands)

No problem, just keep in my mind budget control is hard. It tends to be one of the most expensive archetypes.
