So, RAW in the rulebook, monster hunter states it only lets your re-roll wound rolls vs. monstrous creatures.

Does this really mean it does nothing vs gargantuan creatures?

Seems like a bit of an oversight. Has an FAQ ever addressed this?

Sorta strange that I never noticed this until now, but maaaan, with those new eldar rules I might actually have to fight a gargantuan creature now

The rules for Gargantuan Creature state something to the effect that they follow all the rules for Monstrous Creatures with their own additional rules and exceptions.

Of course, I'm not sure if that clearly or explicitly stretches to mean that rules affecting Monstrous Creatures affect Gargantuan Creatures, but that could be worth looking into if you're concerned.

page 70 says "gargantuan creatures are monstrous creatures that have additional rules and exceptions"

If gargantuan creatures are monstrous creatures, then monster hunter works on them.
