I am wondering how to count casualties in a unit of artillery. Do you just count crew or do you include the artillery pieces as well. You can kill the artillery pieces so part of me wants to say count them, but since they have no leadership value maybe not. However, at the same time, if you killed an artillery piece and you didn't count them, then it wouldn't force a morale check and that doesn't seem right either.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time. |

The rulebook disagrees with you. From 'Morale & Fall Back Moves' in the Artillery rules:
For the purposes of Morale checks and other Leadership test, and for combat resolution, always ignore the gun models, as if they were not there.

The rule book is very clear that the gun model does not count and are ignored for morale and Ld checks

So if you had 10 Infantry and 4 Gun Models, and these are ignored for morale and Ld checks, how many infantry would you need to loose to get a Morale test?
3 Infantry as 25% of 10, or 4 as 25% of 14?

That would have been my first guess, thank you for confirming. I have never played or faced artillery before...
