So we had our
FLGS's monthly tournament over the weekend, and it was a 2000 point tournament with a max 1 LOW, 30k &
FW allowed (we had 2 warhound titans show up). Now My list was as follows:
Eldar Craftworlds:
CAD:
farseer
spiritseer
5 cannon wraithguard in a serpent -
TL-
BL, cannon
10 guardians - starcannon
10 avengers - exarch
pw/shield
5 dark reapers - exarch upgrade and both missiles for each
5 scorpions - exarch had claw
Aspect host:
5 spiders - exarch
6 dragons - exarch in serpent w/
TL-
BL, cannon
6 dragons - exarch in serpent w/
TL-
BL, cannon
LOW - Wraith Knight w/cannons and 2 scatter lasers
The tournament had 2 missions running at the same time. Mission 1 was a Maelstrom mission and Mission 2 was an Eternal War Mission.
Deployment:
DoW, Contact lost mission 1, Big Guns mission2
My first game was against a white scars bike list w/3 storm talons, khan & 4 bikes squads - all backed up by the warhound (plasma and mega bolter). This game was wonky because he said he could charge first turn after a scout move (I believe him, wanting to be a good opponent) and he killed my warlord (farseer) and his unit top of 1. He took 5 wounds of my wraithknight and then on the bottom of 1 I erase his warhound with my D-shots. Rolled boxcars to hit and boxcars for armor pen. 720 points gone in one fell swoop. That game went south fast for me, but after we figured out he "cheated" (he really didn't mean to, just didn't know the rule) I got the win he did.
Deployment: Vanguard, can't remember mission 1,
KP mission 2
Game 2 saw me play against a
CSM/Demonkin list running some
IA:11 stuff (blood slaughterer, decimator engine) and a mauler fiend. I dealt with this pretty well. I fed him the guardians, erased the maulerfiend with the knight, unfortunately let him charge my avengers with his demon prince warlord (helluva beat stick) but mopped up everything else pretty handily. The high point of this was getting 5
KP on my first turn (bottom of 1). He dropped a dreadclaw w/Kharn & 9 beserkers right next to my lines and between all my units I killed Kharn, the beserkers, the dreadclaw, a squad of raptors AND a rhino in 1 turn of shooting/assault. Epic.
Deployment: hammer&anvil, can't remember (the mission that you have cards to the turn #) mission 1, emperor's will mission 2
This game was for all the bacon, so I was ready to bring home my first individual tournament win. He brought imp fists and
BA:
lysander
5 hammernators
lvl2 libby
all in
LRC
2x 10
tac squads w/melta gun in rhino
raven - lascannons, melta, hurricanes
3 Centurions - grav cannons &
amps
Mephy
Cassor the Damned
pod
Now, I got to deploy/go first, which is what I wanted (looking back I should have let him go first and reserved the knight, you'll find out why in a sec) and deployed in cover, spread across my deployment to cover my maelstrom obj's. In this tourney if you brought a
LoW and your opponent didn't they got a +1 to seize on you, which of course happened! So here comes a pod containing Mephy w/grav right for my wraithknight. Direct hit right next to him. I will note that my opponent forgot to deploy his
LRC containing lysander and all the termies. I would have been more lenient about letting him deploy it, had he not already moved to the shooting phase and killed the wraithknight in a stream of grav cannon fire. With prescience and shred form the
amps, those guys kill people dead. Now, the next turn riposte from myself was pretty epic. I got off horrify form my spirit seer, so they were at ld7, then I shrieked them with my farseer which cause 4 wounds and 2 cents died. Then my wraithguard stepped up and rolled a 6 to wound mephy and he was gone with his last centurion buddy. I blew up the drop pod and I was back in business. So he traded my 325 point
GC w/2 36" D shots for Mephiston and 3 grav cents. Kinda crazy that the WK isn't more points. Much too low
IMO. Once that was gone the raven w/Cassor and Lysander's unit were the only real headaches, which I glanced the raven down turn 2, cassor died trying to charge some fire dragons

and I managed to get Lysander's unit down to him being out in front before unloading with the wraithguard, rolling that 6 I was looking for. My opponent was pretty upset for losing 2 really good
HQ's to 2 shots. I don't really feel my list was all that cheesy. I just used my biggest stick I had left (the wraithguard) to kill his biggest sticks. I brought 5! different aspect warriors for goodness sake! Even Dark Reapers! They did solid in that last game. Didn't kill much of anything my first 2
lol
What do y'all think of the list? Is it too Cheesy? I don't think I'll use the Knight anytime again soon, he was much too like a fire magnet. I'm going to switch over to a second unit of guard, but with scythes I think.
Thanks for your comments!
