George Zimmerman injured in Lake Mary shooting, police say
Zimmerman appeared to suffer minor wound, officers say

LAKE MARY, Fla. —George Zimmerman was involved in a shooting incident in Lake Mary on Monday afternoon, according to Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell.

The shooting involved two men and happened on Lake Mary Boulevard about 12:45 p.m., police said.
Officers at the scene said it appeared Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound, Bracknell said.
“He walked normally into the ambulance, so he wasn’t being helped or nothing,” said witness Ricardo Berrare.
Chopper 2 video showed a bullet hole in the passenger window the vehicle Zimmerman was in.
Bracknell said the shooting may have been related to an "ongoing dispute" involving Zimmerman and another person.
In January, Zimmerman was accused of assault by his girlfriend, but no charges were filed after she recanted her allegation.
He was also arrested in November 2013 on domestic violence allegations after his girlfriend called police. His girlfriend later recanted her story and charges were never filed.
Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in 2013.

Sure he was shot at, but we actually don't know what precipitated the shooting. Perhaps the person felt threatened and fired in defense after being threatened. Who knows at this point.

According to the article that I read via FB link, it was a "road rage incident" which leads me to wonder... who was the one raging? And as per the usual Journalistic idiocy... the headline for the article that I read blatantly said Z was shot in the face, but mid way through the article informed readers who had cared to get that far that, more likely he was injured by shattered auto glass, not actually shot. SAN DIEGO, Calif. – A firearm stationed aboard the USS Boxer (LHD-4) has been charged with negligence, reckless endangerment and assault after it wounded a sailor on watch, sources reported Friday.
Aviation Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Jesse Boyer was standing the ship’s midnight topside rover watch when the M4 rifle suddenly opened fire, striking Boyer in the left foot. Doctors at Bob Wilson Naval Hospital stated that Boyer is in stable condition, but will probably never skate again.
“The weapon was in Condition 3 when I sent [Boyer] off,” said Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Travis Dyson, the ship’s armorer and clearing barrel supervisor that day. “It must have charged itself and taken itself off ‘safe.’ These rifles have a mind of their own.”
“I would never deviate from clearing barrel procedures,” he quickly added.
The M4A1 carbine — a 5.56mm, magazine-fed, gas-operated, air-cooled, shoulder-fired weapon — had no previous history of indiscriminate violence, firing only at targets it intended to shoot.
“I certainly never tried to pass the time on watch by playing around with the weapon, or pulled the charging handle at any point, and I most certainly did not squeeze the trigger when I was startled awake,” Boyer said.
Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Andrew Lawson corroborated Boyer’s account.
“Boyer hadn’t checked in over the radio for quite some time, so I went topside to investigate. I found him in a dark corner behind the ship’s refueling station,” said Lawson.
“I called out to make sure everything was okay, when the weapon snapped and engaged Boyer,” he continued. “I then neutralized the threat by subduing it with non-lethal tactics.”
Lawson then escorted the violent carbine to the ship’s brig, where it was held for three days on bread-and-water before being awarded 60 days restriction, with a date for court-martial pending.
At press time, the miscreant firearm had been turned over to the disgruntled engineer with a DUI who had just been docked a half-month’s pay for two months.
The M4 could not be reached for comment.

I'm not saying this is fact...
But I have heard that the guy who shot him, has made repeated claims that Zimmerman has been stalking him. Sounds to me like a nutbag who finally snapped. We shall have to see what details come of this though.

So...a man who was found innocent by a jury, despite the Obama administration and media's attempts to push a conviction, deserves to die why exactly?
Well, if I'm being honest, because this guy has a knack for being present in every bad situation in Florida lately, and from all the things he does appears to be a genuinely suspect character most of the time (at best) and I'm generally in a bad mood and flippantly deciding who deserves to live and who deserves to die.
I mean, it's Dakka. I thought snide arguments from emotion were what we did here.

I think the point is more that one can be found not criminally guilty while also still ethically or morally guilty. People can agree with a court decision while still finding the other true, just as with the cases listed. The courts aren't there to determine the rightness or wrongness of thing, just whether they are innocent or guilty within a narrow parameter. Pretending that it is impossible to find Zimmerman problematic just because he was found not guilty of a criminal act is in itself a bit...something.
