Why no pikes/phalanx units?

I was wondering why these units don't feature in fantasy at all? Is it to do with such miniatures being too fragile (similar to the problems with the old man o war models will the oars)?

Empire spearmen are pretty close.

It's likely to do with defining rules for a pike Vs. a spear and they decided to just say screw it they're all spears.

Pikemen used to get to fight in four ranks, while Spearmen fought in three. But that is such a fantastically boring rule that they just dropped them.

AFAIK no book has replaced them, so its up to date. Technically yes.

YOu'd be at a disadvantage due to the fact everything has gotten cheaper, but I'd play against anyone who wished to smear my warriors in tasty stew.

High Elves fight in a Phalanx. 2 rows for Infantry, 1 row for Spears, 1 row for Horde, 1 row because of their high elf training.

That's 5 rows in combat. That's as deep a formation as you can get with pikes.

Not how that works, he is already counting the extra rank for martial prowess.
