Hi All,

If I have a Leman Russ Battle Tank with 3 Heavy bolters and a Battle cannon, what is stopping me from shooting the Heavy Bolters first at full BS and then afterwards shooting my Ordnance?

I don't have my rule book next to me (writing this at work) but from the top of my head doesn't the ordnance rule state that after firing ordnance all other weapons are snap firing? Well what if I shoot the other weapons first?

In the rule book it states all of one type of weapon from that unit must be resolved first before moving onto the next, it doesn't state I have to shoot the highest strength one first. So could I not choose to fire all of the bolters first, resolve that damage, and then decide if I want to shoot the battle cannon?

I am sure I am wrong about this because otherwise everyone would do it but i want someone to show in the book where it is as I couldn't find it last night.

Ok... Vehicles & Ordnance says...

Unlike other units, vehicles can move and fire with ordnance weapons. However, a vehicle that fires an ordnance weapons can only make snap shots with its other weapons that turn. A vehicle that moved at cruising speed can still snap shoot ordnance, but of course, cannot fire any ordnance weapon that cannot be fired as snapshots.

This means that regardless of the sequence of shooting the HB, you are going to be stuck snap shooting them.

If you fire them at full BS you can't meet the ordnance requirement to snap shot with its other weapons.
