The new(ish) Deredo-Pattern Dreadnought strikes me as a platform with a lot of potential, most of which remains untapped. Disappointed with the new Hellfire Cannonade (Yes, its good, but at the cost of the Anvilus battery AND thirty-five bolt pistols... I'm not sure, though as a Guard player, I may under-appreciate the value of 2+ armor), I decided to come up with a few new choices, though I'm still working out the pricing. More question marks means I'm less sure of the number I've got.

Primary Weapons Batteries:

Ramiel Pattern Microlance Array - 45-55(???) points. Reach out and touch somebody. May always fire in Standard mode, or fire in Charged mode if the model did not move in the previous phase AND Charged mode was not used in the previous turn.

Standard S 10 AP 2 R 48'' Heavy 2

Charged S 10 AP2 R 72'' Heavy 4

I really like the idea of this one. I've always been irritated by the lack of S10 weaponry for the Imperium (we have demoliser cannons and... I think that's it) and gibbing T5 would be fun, but I'm not entirely sure on the execution. +1 S and Sunder on the Anvilus Autocannons leads me to believe that +1 Strength on a lascannon would work, but I'm not really sure. I may add in something that makes it always snap fire against fliers, or maybe a risk of damaging itself, but I'm leery about that last one.

Actually, disregard all that, we live in a world of D scythes now. This is now a free weapon swap, and may always fire 4 shots.

Kabaiel Pattern High Volume Laseron Blaster Battery - >35(?) points: Shoot everyone. Everywhere. Right now. No questions, just do it.

May chose fire mode each time it is fired.

Strobe Mode: S 4 AP 5 R 36'' Heavy 16

Pseudo-Aimed Mode S 6(??) AP 4 R 36'' Heavy 8

Repeater Mode S 7(?) AP 3 R 48'' Heavy 4

I feel better about this one; I just want to work out the exact price and S values.

Hestia Pattern Plasmacaster Bank
-> ~25 points: Hey kids, do you want to be on fire?

S 6 AP 3(??) R Template Heavy 4, Torrent (16''), MAYBE TL(???)

Pretty confident on this one; just need to decide if it should be TL and if it should be AP 3. AP 3 seems like a pretty big deal, meta-wise.

Carapace/Hat Weapons:

Fragmentation Missile Launcher - 30 points: Area saturation Gaunt-B-Gone.

S 5 AP 5 R 36'' Large Blast, Heavy 2(?)

Melta Missile Launcher - 35(?) points: Why has it taken this long for someone to think of strapping a Melta Bomb onto something smaller than a interplanetary torpedo?

S 7 AP 1 R 48'' Armorbane, Shread, Heavy 1(or 2?)

Gives you a more solid Anti-tank option. Pretty simple, though I'm not certain on the cost.

Back-mounted weapons:

FlakBackPack -> 20-25 points: Launches missiles straight up, and then they robotech around to hit their target, which can't be touching the ground, as that scares their tiny little Machine Spirits.

S 7 AP 3 R 48'' Skyfire, Heavy 2(?)

So, what do you guys think. Am I completly crazy, or do any of these have potential?

Okay, that's fair. What do you think of the weapons I've got here so far?

And what else could we add? Maybe a barrage/indirect fire missile backpack?

As much as I want marines to get some of this stuff, I'm just not sure it feels right. Keep in mind first that I'm excluding all the D eldar gets from this.

A potential of 4 strength 10 shots means this thing should take out a land raider in 2 turns, and I'm worried that's just a bit two much. Maybe if you cut it down to 2 shots at 72"? And for the 48" version, it'd be twin linked. Remove the rule about moving. This way neither fire mode is significantly "better" than the other, and makes it a bit more versatile without being overpowered.

While I like options, the laser array seems like it covers too many bases. It can kill ANY infantry that it feels like firing at? It wipes squads in a turn or two? Make it good against one thing and decent against everything else. At most 2 fire modes, one for killing marines and one for killing guardsmen. Maybe up the strength and decrease the AP on "strobe", S5 or AP-. Reduce the range on the marine killer to 36 or 30.

Heavy 4 torrent is maximum overkill. Oh, it can wipe 10 man squads of marines in a single shooting phase? Or kill 30 guardsmen? Or really just wipe anything, because 20 hits against 2+ is still a lot of wounds. Either make it 2 shots with torrent, or 4 without torrent.

Frag launcher sounds fine.

Melta launcher lose shred, doesn't quite fit with something that also has armourbane. Drop the cost to ~20? Either twin link or 2 shots.

The flak launcher.... oh my, as silly as "then they robotech around to hit their target" is, I don't see an issue with this. Seems pretty cool. Make sure to add a rule that it ignores LoS or ignores cover?

Far, far too powerful.

Just because one unit in another codex get short ranged Destroyer weapons in limited and expensive numbers doesn't mean you have to jump the gun and make it overpowered.

Needs major retuning. You seem adamant that it has to have all the special rules. Give it either Torrent, Ap3 or multiple templates.

Carapace/Hat Weapons:

Fragmentation Missile Launcher - 30 points: Area saturation Gaunt-B-Gone.

S 5 AP 5 R 36'' Large Blast, Heavy 2(?)

Good, but a bit costly at 30pts.

Why would you want this when you have your "OMG SUPOR-LAZORS!!!!!111" at the top of the post?

Back-mounted weapons:

FlakBackPack -> 20-25 points: Launches missiles straight up, and then they robotech around to hit their target, which can't be touching the ground, as that scares their tiny little Machine Spirits.

S 7 AP 3 R 48'' Skyfire, Heavy 2(?)

So you want this as well as the carapace launcher?

So, what do you guys think. Am I completly crazy, or do any of these have potential?

I'm going to be honest: These are awful rules. One, perhaps two have some merit to be good ideas, but most of them just stink of "OMG, I have to make this a super-duper triple-laser-launcher-cannon that can take down anything!!!!!".
