I'm a bit new to this whole 40k thing, and I was wondering if the Ork battle force (pictured below) would be a good place to start?

P.S. feel free to move/delete this if I posted it in the wrong section.

I think its a fairly good set of stuff. You might also want to look up the new one that includes mega armored guys and trukk

Is that the Kult of Speed bundle?

No. I think there must've been an Ork box when the codex was released that they don't sell anymore. The bundles don't save you any money.

You get boys, a trukk and warbikes, all of which can be good choices in an ork army.

As far as I understood, gw no longer sells this box though

You can get it on ebay for about 90 bucks or so.

This box set is brilliant for an ork army. I contains a large number of boyz, a must in all ork armies. It also comes with a trukk which can be used for a variety of purposes, such as transporting said boyz. The warbikes are another powerful unit that can be useful for getting objectives and generally smashing things.

The mekmob that is the discontinued alternate battleforce is another good set, but contains less of the stuff for if you want to sit down and play right away. This battle force gives you two troops and a fast attack, meaning you just need to buy a HQ to start playing. The other one gives you one troop, one elite, one heavy, and a sort-of HQ, meaning that you will need to make more purchases.

If you are looking into starting an ork army, get the set. It is very good.

Still waiting for Godot.
