Hello friendly people of dakka,
I recently decided to start my first 40k army: orks.
I picked up the codex recently and was able to pick up the ork models from AoBR cheap.
Having a lot of fun with the codex and am looking to expand with some more models to make an 1k list.
Unfortunately money is tight for me atm so while i have some money to spend on expanding it's not a huge ammount.
I made a 1000 points list based on what i have and what i'm planning to get.
List:

+ HQ + (99p)
Warboss, PK, BP, eavy armour, Ded shiny shooter

+ Troops + (546p)
10 slugga's, nob, BP, PK, Truck with ram

9 slugga's, nob, BP, PK, Truck with ram

9 slugga's, nob, BP, PK, Truck with ram

9 slugga's, nob, BP, PK, Truck with ram

+ Elites + (125p)
5 nob, truck with ram

+ Fast Attack + (90p)
Deffkopta, TL RL

Deffkopta, TL RL

Deffkopta, TL RL

+ Heavy Support + (140p)
5 lootas

5 lootas

1000 points.

Planning to attach my warboss to my nobz and planning to put rockets on all my trucks.
So just to clarify i'm a total noob, will look for my first game after i expand my army to 1k and have them painted.
Feedback would be apreciated a lot.
Not looking to be the most competitive person out there but having a decent chance to win would be nice.
Thx in advance

First off welcome to 40k and secondly there are somethings I would change.

1. If you run nobz run them with power klaws. They will hurt if you can get them into assault.
2. Combine the lootas. Cause if you roll a 1 on a D3 then that's five shots compared to 10.

Everything else looks good though!

'Nids growing soon
3500 pts. unpainted
Admech 1000 buying & building
If you don't enjoy playing against people with unpainted armies, break into their house when they sleep, paint their figures for them, help yourself to their cheerios and then your problems will be solved.
Well, my opponents usually don't have more than 1-2 Wave Serpents 'cos Serpent spam is very expensive in real life money.
GENERATION 11: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Welcome to 40k, and as a fellow ork player let me give a welcoming WAAAAAAAGH! I'm not an expert, but there are some things I have learned through trial and error.

Nobz: I have tried so hard to make regular nobz good, but they usually end up being very expensive for what you get. Meganobz are actually cheaper than a regular nob with a power klaw! And they get really good armor. You can't put as many in a trukk, but you don't need as many.

Lootas: When I talk to an ork player around here this is how the conversation usually goes: Them "How many lootas do you have?" Me "Well I have this many." Them "Dude. Get more lootas. You cannot have too many lootas." The only problem I have run into with using them is survivability. They're a major target for the enemy, and if you have 15 of them on the field as a single unit, it's hard to get line of sight sometimes. I've been putting them in battle wagons and they have done wonderfully so far.

Deffkoptas: I loves me some deffkoptas. They are good shoots for orks and your opponent can do some silly things to try to avoid those rokkits!

Warboss: I've tried a lot of different warboss builds, and in my opinion, a warboss with mega armor, and DA lucky stikk is the way to go. A 2+ save that you are able to reroll failed saves is fantastic. Put him with a boyz squad and have him tank all the not AP 2 hits, then use the boyz to take the ones that would pierce his armor. Top it all off with the fact that he's only 130 with a bosspole and its a good buy.

Trukks: I loves me some ork trukks. Fast, cheap, and a good way to get your guys to the front in one piece. Just don't expect the truck to survive past turn one, and keep it hidden if your opponent goes first.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the quick replies.
You've deffinitely given me some food for thought.
Appreciate the tactical advice you guys haven given me for several units a lot.
Also, sorry for the late reply.

I'd invest in some Bikes at some point. They're effective and fun to build! I'm starting to add to my old (like Gorkamorka era) Warbikers and along with the new boxed set, I'm cobbling together converted bikes from Marine Scout bikes, Eldar jetbikes and some other sources. Orks take what dey like!

Increase ork numbers in trukk to 12 , also slap some heavy armor on nobs and a pk to a squad 1 - 2 will do ,also I'd sugest runing youre boss with boyz not nobz so oponent would had to choose what to shoot

warboss in mega armour with da lucky stick is mean combo, lootas are great behind a ADL with a squad of grots 2 fire the quadgun for anti air, having a plane is good and as you new most people wil let you try it out as all 3 of hte dif ork fliers (dakkajet is usualy the favorite), i like my mek cannons and they fairly cheap also you can make some artilery units for cheaper fairly easy by converting a IG heavy weapon squad. id say go with 3 mega noobs with a waaaagh banner over the 5 nobs, but nobs are useful especialy with big chopas and Pks i usualy run em with Warboss in a battlewagon. hope this helps bud and welcome to the WAAAAAAAGH
