Just picked one of these up to supplement my fun lists as i've never had a flyer and I really like the model.

I'm wondering how it is best played though. It has some pretty nasty fire power - 2 D-scythes and psychic shriek with the mindshock pod helping if you are close. It also has vector dancer so should be quite easy to position. The issue is it is wafer thin and can jink for a 4+ or 2+ if you can get conceal off but that stops you firing the guns at all and means shriek needs a 6 to hit which is unlikely. So the choice seems to be - 1. don't jink and die, or 2. jink and become totally useless by not being able to do anything next turn.

So am I missing anything? I hear some people really like these but I can see it going wrong!

In a Freakshow list!

The -2 bubble of fear, coupled with the innate Telepathy powers of the craft, make it a valuable asset to such a list, and synergize well with Harlequins, Teleapthy Farseers, and the various LD-dependent Dark Eldar business. Wraithfighters bring some great AT capacity with their D scythes, something DE heavy Freakshows can suffer from a lack of.

A large part of keeping a crimson hunter alive and bringing the pain is to bring enough threats that the crimson hunter is low priority. You can also use vector dancer to play tricks with opponent's line of sight assuming there are large buildings.

Don't be afraid to jink. When an opponent shoots enough firepower to average 1.5 HP or more then jink. The turn after you jink you can then fly off the board and come back on to nuke something.

Though in a freak show list you can just keep it on the board as the main benefit of the wraithfighter in such a list is the Ld debuff and extra warp charges, thus a jinking wraithfighter is still very useful.
