I had some games in my Garage yesterday and we played LOTR. It all went quiet and a friend who is normally quiet and hesitant to try new games said "infinity won best skirmish game of the year" Or something like that. Within half an hour we did some test games and I can see why!

The rules for this game seem amazingly fun and potentially fast.

So we all purchased 200 point forces last night. The most expensive being $100 NZD and the cheapest being $65 NZD

I went with a Combine Plant people force. It took me a long time to settle on a force because personally I found many of the models pretty lame. But the Combine had the more interesting stuff.

My list currently:

3 Shasvasti Seed Soldiers with Combi Rifles
1 Shasvasti Seed Soldier with GL + Combi Rifle
1 Shasvasti Seed Soldier with Medi Pack + Combi Rifle
1 maligno with Multi Sniper Rifle
1 Speculo Killer with monofilament CCW + Boarding Shotgun
1 Shrouded Hacker with Combi Rifle
1 Gwailo with Boarding Shotgun

That puts me on 200 points exactly with 3.5 Special Weapon Points.

How is this list? Any tips with these units etc?

Cheers guys

It might work in "kill 'em all" games, but with only one specialist for objective games, you'll probably get pasted (most of them don't reward casualties inflicted).

That said, the shas are more amphibianoid than plant people. Regardless of their "pod" stage.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I see, well I can add to my order today and it will arrive tomorrow, so what do you suggest I take?

I pretty much got the starter set and some extra seeds + Gqailos I think.

I like to think of them as closer to Mollusca then plants. Do note while I love my SEF, they are one of the highest learning curve of any force in the game. Mind games are your friend.

Your list is fine for learning games. But, the Seed Soldiers are going to be a pain in the back side. They start the game in Seed-Embryo state don't auto-hatch until the beginning of your second turn. You can use a order to hatch early or a ARO if giving the chance. But, until they hatch your back field is wide open. While you have 2 specialist the Seed Soldiers is basically useless for objectives do the Seed-Embryo state. And I like Seed Soldiers.

As for what next, any really.

Corax Hasht is nice for Seed-Links as he brings a Spitfire, but has the same downside as all Seed Soldiers.

Sheskin is fun, get a Nanoscreen and Multi-Rifle and can eat downed foes to get extra Wounds. She can also join any SEF link team, Gwailo are good here. Nanoscreens everywhere.

Caliban are good, they link and get Engineers for objectives. Plus, you can pay a point more to have them start already hatched. Only one model right now but you can proxy Seed Soldiers .

Sphinx is my favorite TAG, even with the new Camo/TO Markers need to be the base size of model is not a big deal. As by the time you place the TO Marker on the table it should be to late for the enemy.

Or any of the others.

Hope you enjoy them, and remember going full Combine Army only every takes 1 non-SEF Combined model.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Yea I have to be very careful with the placement of my seedlings.

I was tempted to go with the morak ape people but I dont really like their brutish style as far as I could tell.

If it helps, it seems my list is very much like everyone else. Mostly basic guys with a few specials from the starter.

So should I aim to keep my seeds out of site or shall I risk them in site to try get them activated early?
