Hi, i hope this is the right forum for my questions about 30K

I have just brought some mkII leigon marines,1x Assault sqd, 1x Despoiler sqd,1x Phobos chainaxe set and a Apothecary and would like to paint and use them as World Eaters, i have a couple of questions?

1, What Imperial Armour volume/s cover the World Eaters?

2, I have the chainaxes for either one of the sqds as i know World Eaters like to use them a lot, but do they still use chainswords? or would i need to replace all the chainswords?

Thanks Timmy

You need Horus Heresy Books. Book 1 for sure, everything you want to know about 30k World Eaters will be in there.

Their fluff section is in Book 1.

Their rules are split however: the Legion rules, Angron, Shabran Dar (character) and Rampager Squads are in Book 1 whilst Kharn, Red Butcher Squads, The Berzerker Assault Rite of War and an optional Legion rule for post-Isstvan World Eaters are in Book 2.

All of the rules are compiled in the Isstvan Legion Compendium, which contains zero fluff.

As for chainaxes, they are a free upgrade for any World Eater with a chainsword, but an optional one.

You can find the 30k rules in these 2 books.

The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List

This book has the basic units that every legion can use.

The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Isstvan Campaign Legions

This book has the Legion specific rules and Units, as well as the Priimarchs for the first group of Legions. This includes the World Eaters special units, rules, and Angron.

Hi thanks for the replies,

Il be sure to check the books out, as im on a budget getting book 1 the betrayal for the fluff etc and then the Legiones Astartes: Isstvan campaign book for the sqd loadouts etc, would that be the best route? then pick up the other 2 books at a later date

Nice one about the chainaxes, il split the pack between the squads

Thanks Timmy

If you are on a budget, I would recommend the two books I posted. Books 2 and 3 have World Eater some stuff that isn't in Book 1 or the Isstavaan campaign book. However, I don't think there is too much in those books. I just hate for you to miss out on a unit that you might like.

If you want all of the existing World Eater options now, I would get the two books I posted. You can later buy book 1: Betrayal for the stories (which are very good, IMHO).

Best of luck.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing World Eater specific in Book 2 that isn't in the Isstvan book, and nothing for them at all in Book 3. The only thing missing from the Isstvan book is I think the Relics from Book 4, of which there is a single World Eater specific one (The Earth Breaker Trident).

Incorrect. In book 2, World Eaters get a psychotic terminator squad (the terminator suits are modified to function as prisons) and Kharn. (that's a copy/paste and not my comments)

Now, those are included in The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Isstvan Campaign Legions, but not The Horus Heresy Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List

I'll have to look when I get home, but I think there is also something in book 3.

Another reason to get the two red books over the larger HH books is that they're more up to date. There are changes, corrections, and improvements within them that aren't in the original HH books or a FAQ.

"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me."
- Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

Fair point. I didn't think about that.

Which of the HH books is Tartaros Terminators in?

Only normal Terminators and Cataphractii are in book 1, and I can't find the generic Tartaros suits in the other books.

There isn't anything in book 3 for the World Eaters.

For everything WE, you probably want book 1, for fluff, and the two red books for rules. Depends whether your priority is fluff or rules as to which you get first, but probably better off getting the red books and then book 1 later.

They're the 'normal' terminator armour I believe, Catapractii are the only one with any difference rules wise. I think.

There is no tartaros specific rules in the 30k stuff. There's terminator armour, or cataprhactii. I just checked battlescribe.

Done a bit of digging, the 2+/6++ with sweep was an experimental rules on the FW site that's been removed since, and there's only rules for Ctaphractii (2+/4++ slow and purposeful) and every other type (2+/5++ relentless) so far in the actual books.

That is odd. Phoenix Terminators wear specifically Tartaros armour in their profile. What is it referring to?

Just 'Terminator armour' (2+/5++ relentless) I would guess. Just edited my last post with some extra info I found.

They might add it later, particularly as its directly referenced like that.

Tartaros is mentioned by name in the entry for the regular Terminator armour in Betrayal and the little red book.
