Been out of the loop a good bit with school taking up most of my time. Decided to get back into it. There are 2 different detachments of Space Marines simply because thats how I have them painted so if that could be kept, that'd be great. I don't play at a highly competitive level but I'd rather not get thrashed. Thanks in advance!!

Not bad. But maybe you have to move the sternguard into the Ultramarine detachment. Since 3 Ironclad had filled out your elite slot in IH detachment.

If you take both 2 HF and 3 combi melta in Sternguards. It is better to take full 10 men squad and combat squad them. Those melta and HF aimed at very different targets. However I think you have enough HF elsewhere (Dreadnought, and the LSS), so those points is better used in other part of the army and drop the HF in sternguard.

Similar issues with Ironclad Dreadnought. It is better to take dual HF on one or two, the rest take stock melta and stormbolter. That would save you some more points.

Besides. Sternguards in Ultramarine detachments will benefit from their tactical dorctrine as well. You will need that re roll 1s when you got a huge bad rolling that let your "Imperial elites" hits like Conscripts on that critical moments. I had once fired 5 men Sternguards with the Dragon fire bolt (ignore cover rounds) in rapid fire range. And got only THREE hits and ZERO wounds on that Tyranid Venomthrope.

Thanks! Just made a dumb mistake with the Sternguard placement!! If I was to take the HF off the sternguard do you have any recommendations for where those points should go? I'd like to keep the HF on the Ironclads as I just see them to be so effective so often.

Er, sorry maybe I had some not accurate expression on the Ironclad Dreadnought ideas. I actually using your loadout on my own one. But that is because I only have one of it, and while it looks all rounded it actually lose efficency, when I using the HF to fire on infantry, the melta is actually wasted, vice versa when I fire it against vehicle with melta. You have three Dreadnought so I think you can specialize them against different targets. For example, you take two Dread with Dual HF and let the last one being stock melta and stormbolter, that will let you aim the two heavy flamer Dreads at infantry mobs and aim the stock Ironclad at vehicle with its melta. You lose no efficency. Two HF firing on any one infantry mob is deadly enough, and you can potentially decimate two infantry mobs, and your Dreadnought party is 10pts cheaper in total.

Two HF taken off from sternguard is 20pts saved. Maybe a Lascannon on that naked 5men TAC? I guess you are going to let them guard your backfield Objective? Or you may consider melta bomb for some of the sarge. In case your dreadnought failed to destroy those tanks or MC. If you can squize 5pts more. Probably up the Libby to level two. If you squize another 15pts, then it is also good to take a rhino, as an emergency objective grabber, in case enemy destroyed your droppod which land on that 4pts or 3pts Objective
